TLLF: Chapter 5 Part 4
Missing
If darkness could speak to us, we would have no idea the horrors that it would tell. Such horrors can not be easily explained. The two people this story is centered around involve light after darkness, so why not change it? When if it were a series of unfortunate events? But that would be copy righting Lemony Snicket’s series. Any who, when if this story took a tragic turn? Some cry, some laugh and the pure desperation of the charters. But I don’t have the heart to tear apart two loving people, real or not. But who said I couldn’t mess around a bit? Maybe I want to do a few darks before a light, or maybe I want to stick to the traditional light after dark. We shall see. To confirm your fears, what I meant by Sasori being taken in Chapter 5 Part 3, was exactly correct. Sasori was taken away, by who do you ask? Well… Some one who hasn’t appeared in awhile. Or rather, Some one who hasn’t appeared at all. I’ll give you a clue… but… maybe I wont. I guess you will have to wait. If you can. By this time you are most likely wanting me to get on with the story. What an impatient group you are. But I guess it’s to be expected. If you so please, I will get on with the story. But don’t say I never warned you.
It was quiet. The darkness played on the skin of the blonde and the queer, red lights of the alarm clock stared silently. The red light reflecting off that of the blondes head. The air seemed heavy, yet it was so cold. The warmth of the sheets blew out hours ago. He lay there, shivering. His hands searching the bed, looking for the desired object. When it was confirmed the object was not in its place, the blonde opened his eyes. His pupils adjusted to the darkness, and he pulled the blankets up to cover his unclothed body. Deidara’s eyes wandered to
the clock. It’s red eyes read 1:55am. He blinked. What was he doing up so early? He sat up and his heart skipped a beat when he saw dark, motionless figures sitting and standing in random positions. He breathed in then out once his memory recalled the events of the other night. He had spent the night in Sasori’s room. But where was Sasori? Deidara looked around. None of the figures matched Sasori’s and the bathroom was dark with no sign of a soul. Deidara sat, confused. He got up and put on his clothes. His hands wondered to the light switch and turned it on. The light seemed to glare as it chased away the shadows in less then a blink. The room was empty. Deidara looked around again. Nothing to be found of the red head. He stood by the door way confused. Where did Sasori go? There was no note, no warning. He was just, gone. Deidara shrugged it off, even though he was completely worried. He left Sasori’s room and quietly headed down the dimly lit hall. He passed the dark doors and into his own room. He opened it and stepped inside. After turning on the light he half hoped to find Sasori there. There was nothing, just his bed, his sculptures, and his desk. Nothing out of the ordinary. He closed his door and walked over to his bed. He stood there staring at the usually empty room. His blue eyes slanted in sadness and he sat on his bed. Moments later, there was a rapped knock on his door. Confused and hopeful, Deidara opened the door to find Hidan standing there with a slightly worried expression. Hidan was in his cloak and he had his weapon strapped to his back. Deidara looked at Hidan, confused.
“ Is there a problem Hidan?” Deidara asked. Hidan scowled.
“ Of course there is a f**king problem you mother f**ker!” Hidan burst. Deidara stood silent for a moment.
“ Do you mind explaining to me what the problem is?” Deidara asked again.
“ Leader says that he’s calling an emergency meeting. Get your cloak and bag and get you a** to the meeting room!” Hidan ordered. He then left in a hurry down the hall. Deidara stood for a moment. An emergency? What possibly could have happened? Deidara put on his cloak and he got out his bag of clay. He checked himself in the mirror then headed out the door. He met Zetsu in the hall and they both walked down to the meeting room. Once there, Deidara was imminently worried. Everyone was accounted for, except Sasori. Leader was pacing impatiently in front of the meeting table. He ordered everyone to take a seat then he went to his. Once there, his fingers tapped on the wood of the table. Everyone waited. Finally Pein looked up and started his speech.
“ As you all might have noticed, Sasori of the Red Sands, one of our members, isn’t sitting at the table with the rest of you.” He Stated. Deidara’s eyes slanted more in worry, but remained quiet. Pein continued on.
“ That’s the reason I’ve called you all here. As hard as it is to believe, he has disappeared.” The room was dead quiet. All the members exchanged looks of worry and disbelief. Deidara sat there shocked and worried. Pein’s words made his hair stand on end in fear. Disappeared? How could Sasori just disappear? Pein wasn’t finished so he got the members attention with a tap of his fingers. “ I’m sure you all remember our old friend Orochimaru. Zetsu came to me 2 hours ago claming he saw Orochimaru near the hideout holding a limp body that is now confirmed to be Sasori’s.” Pein turned to Deidara. “ Deidara.” Deidara looked up worriedly. “ Since you are Sasori’s partner, does Sasori ever sleep?” Pein asked sternly. Deidara thought for a moment.
“ Yes, un. Buts its not really sleeping, its more like passing out, un.” Deidara answered. Pein thought for a moment. Deidara swallowed and tried to get used to the silence.
“ Fine then. I’m conducting a full search of Sasori’s and Orochimaru’s whereabouts. If Orochimaru wanted him, that means bad luck for all of us. Deidara, since you’re his partner, you and Itachi will be the paired up from now till Sasori gets back. I’m I understood?” Pein asked. Deidara’s heart hammered in fear and worry. Him? With Itachi? Deidara knew that wouldn’t be good news for him, and he was on bad terms with Itachi. He was cornered.
“ Yes Leader-Samma.” Deidara said trying not to sound disappointed. Itachi said nothing. He just nodded at Pein. Pein returned the gesture.
“ Alright then. Split up in your regular teams. Keisame, you search with Zetsu and Tobi. Every one is dismissed.” He finished. With that, everyone at the table, including Deidara quickly left in a blur. Deidara and Itachi were out side now. Itachi used his eyes to locate the direction that Orochimaru took. After that, Deidara summoned his giant, clay bird. They hopped on then took off. Deidara looked at Itachi through the corner of his eye. The smug weasel stood there during the flight take off, unlike Sasori, his reaction was not the same. Not the least bit of surprise or wonder. Deidara found himself glaring at Itachi, so he looked away trying to calm himself down. They were flying in the air for awhile. The quiet was expected, but it gave Deidara a bad feeling. He didn’t like flying with Itachi. He would prefer any other member, just not Itachi. The air was cold with the morning breeze and the sun just started to rise. Itachi’s expression never changed. He just kept staring ahead. Deidara decided not to spend any more of his thoughts on Itachi, he had better things to worry about after all. Sasori would be at the hands of his ex-partner. A disgusting, vile snake. Deidara worried for his partner, wondering what he might be going through at this very moment. He tried to have faith in his love, but the pressure and fear seemed to get the better of him. The bird flew faster, making the wind more strong and dangerous, but Deidara didn’t care. Itachi’s eyes wondered to Deidara. He didn’t care about Sasori at all and he was more then happy to let him die. His lips curled into an evil smile. Watching Deidara worry, in pain, or just emotionally hurt was enough to bring such a smile. He decided that he would play the good guy for awhile, then turn right around and take everything he wanted. His plan was set. Deidara didn’t make eye contact with Itachi until he felt the same, cold fingers on his shoulder. He wiped around and glared at him. Itachi had faked a worried expression and he began to talk to Deidara.
“ Hey Deidara, I want to apologize for all the harsh things I’ve done to you. I’m very sorry.” He said softly. Deidara eyes widened in surprise. Itachi was apologizing? It seemed too hard to believe. Itachi continued on.
“ I don’t know what came over me, honestly. I know how much you love that puppet of yours, and I don’t like seeing you so hurt like this.” He lied. Deidara turned his head away from Itachi.
“ His name is Sasori, and don’t think that one apology is going to make up for all the hell you caused me.” Deidara growled. Itachi’s sorry face remained.
“ I’m just asking for the chance to start over. I’m truly sorry for what I did, and I will help you get Sasori back. No matter what it takes.” Itachi promised. Deidara turned his head back to Itachi half way. This all seemed too weird and so unlike Itachi. Itachi never talked, when he did it was a few words. He never looked so sorry or worried before. Maybe this is a new Itachi coming out of him. Deidara didn’t know. He watched Itachi, looking for any sign of trickery. He couldn’t find any, so he made a small smile.
“ Thanks Itachi. But you also have to understand that I don’t like you at all right now.” He said. Itachi nodded.
“ Take all the time you need. Just thought I would say I’m sorry.” Itachi said. He sat back and looked ahead. “ He shouldn’t be so far now. Just a few more miles then were in Orochimaru’s territory.” He finished. Deidara looked at Itachi, then turned his head forward. If Itachi was sorry, this would be quite the turn as well as the advantage. Deidara thought about it. He smiled to himself. Finally. He thought. Finally Itachi is on my side. Sasori, I’m coming for you.
