Plot: Ryuk told Raito that there is no Heaven and there is no Hell, when he dies there will be nothing.
As Raito died here on the steps of the stairs, he could see a blurry image of L, at first he thought he was just seeing things but it really was L. He closes his eyes and dies after that. It wasn't the end of Yagami Raito, turns out Ryuk was fooling with his mind.
When Raito looks around, he sees L. This was life after death and so our story truly begins here.
Note: This place was be just like a city, houses, everything like that. Like a second Earth but everyone is dead.
