It's been a year since i posted something here...
I'm in a new band right now..well, not exactly a new band..
I became the rythm guitarist of the band Defacto for a couple of months, but I felt that I was being pressured because of their genre and professionalism. I have been in a post-hardcore band, indie band, alternative rock band..but it was the first time that I have been in a Rap Metal Band, and it's pretty dificult for me because they are all so good in playing their instruments and I feel like an amateur in front of them. Their beats and melodies are well played and they love syncopation which is hard for me to handle because I can't predict what tone and tempo they'll be playing. And so I left their band, also for the reason that I want to devote myself in studies(in which i failed, dramatically ^_^) and I want to practice my writing skills(poetry).
And now, my friend(who is also my bandmate in my sleeping band: Orphans of The Pacific) joined Defacto and he suggested if I want to play Bass guitar on their band, and he told me that it wouldn't be as hard as playing rythm guitar and so I agreed. Unfortunately, their "supposed-to-be" rythm guitarist was rejected and they decided to have just one guitarist. And it is the bassist position to fill in the gap and stand as the cornerstone for their music which is putting another pressure to me because i'm better as a rythm guitarist than a bassist. ...
what to do?
