I stumbled from one roof after the other. I could barley keep up with my feet let alone what had just happened. I tried to stop him, he was a ways ahead of me now but I was able to draw close enough to grab the long gray cape that hung from his left shoulder to his waist. "s-s-sir" I chocked. I could barley catch my breath. So I tried again "sir!" My words more assertive this time. With the sudden jerk of my arm I pulled on the cape and sent him stumbling a few steps backwards. He turned his head far enough to where I could only see the lower half of his face, His eyes were still covered by the shadow of the cloak.
"What is it Ryuga" He said sternly.
"Please.." I gasped, "Just please tell me whats going on"
"I already told you I'll explain everything when we get there"
"There?" I paused "Whats there?,". "Where's there?"
"Just calm down everything will be clear soon. we have to get to the docks Its our only form of escaping Emilio"
I took short chokes of breath, but after a little while I was able to respond. "Va Bene I trust you, you..you saved..my life, you have my thanks." When I was finally able to stand up straight he told me to keep pushing and that we were almost there. The pain in my legs were hard enough to deal with, rooftop after rooftop we finally came to the last building at the edge of Venice by the ship docks.
"Alright, were out of here"
"You still haven't told me where we going" This time I was somewhat demanding an answer. With a long sigh in his voice he finally let it out.
"Were going to Tuscany, near the city lies a small town we've managed to settle."
"We?" I paused but before I could receive an answer the loud piecing noise of an arrow shot was heard and before I could realize what had just happened I was on the shingles of the roof face down. I had just been shot by Emilio's archers they were still in pursuit of us all this time.
"Ryuga! Are you Alright" The man shouted. I didn't know what to answer. the whole left side of my body tensed up and something worse was about to happen.
I was slowly but assuring, sliding off the edge of the roof I couldn't move either the pain was unbearable. I wanted to scream. I could hear the sound of arrows slitting the air in two and the cling, clang of swords. I was certain It was over. I stared death in the face I closed my eyes and waited for it to all end.
"I gotcha! Hang on" I heard in a faint whisper. I opened my eyes enough to notice I was on the mans back, the guards were still chasing us but I had just been saved a second time, I felt helpless, there was nothing I could do but dangle there on his shoulders. Suddenly I saw over his shoulder the edge of a roof I tried to whisper in his ear. "Were running out of Rooftop!"
"Don't worry I know what I'm doing" He sounded confident in his action and in seconds I found myself facing downward towards the water I closed my eyes as seconds went by like hours. I opened my eyes to a murky greenish-blue sea I was on the side of a dock, when I tried moving, my arm shot with pain. It was my left arm that had been shot by the arrow. I noticed however that It was patched up, I sat up and took a look around, I soon saw the white and red cloak of the man who had saved me twice already. He walked up to me with a cheerful sound in his voice.
"How are you guerriero" He chuckled.
"guerriero?" I said puzzled, "I am no such thing!" I tensed at the pain in my arm.
"Maybe not now but in time."
"What now signore" I asked
"Our ship is ready for departure we are leaving come I want you to meet somebody"
He took my hand, lifted me up from the ground and led me aboard the ship called "Il Falco"or the Falcon. I was pleased to see people who didn't have any intention to kill me for once. I walked along the main deck and he led me to the captains quarters. He opened the door and we both stepped in. I saw a Bearded man sitting in the desk and yet another hooded man was standing beside him.
"Welcome" Said the man in the seat. "It is a Pleasure to have you aboard Il Falco signore Ryuga"
"Thank you Sir I look forward to your hospitality"
"il piacere è il mio"
I took a bow of respect and looked at the two men. then the man standing took off his hood and revealed his face he spoke to me. I couldn't believe my eyes...
