Friday came by quickly. Already on her way to pick up Phoenix, Nikole became nervous. She didn't know how Amanda would react when she'd see the obvious resemblance between them. Only living 25 minutes away, the drive to Cody's house was easy and calm, except for the thoughts that jogged through Nikole's head.

Turning the car off and and slowly getting out, Nikole made her way to the front door of the house, knocking gently against the wooden frame. From inside she could hear Phoenix running to the but when it opened, she was greeted by the sight of Cody, with Phoenix standing beside him.

"Glad you could make it." Cody sighed out with a smile on his face.

"I told you I could watch him." Cody's eyes moved to the floor.

"There's a small problem."

Nikole glared at the tall blond.

"What is it?"

"Uhm...I need to to watch Phoenix for a month, rather than for just a weekend."

"Why?"

"My business trip has been extended to little over 3 weeks."

"That's freakin' fantastic." Cody sighed. He nudged on Phoenix to go over to Nikole, who graciously did, and latched himself to her leg, hugging it tightly. Nikole looked down at the boy and smiled.

"You can trust me." She told Cody. Nikole turned to Phoenix.

"You packed?" The boy nodded excitedly. He grabbed his bag from beside his father and ran down to Nikole's car.

"I owe you so much 'Red'." Nikole walked over to Cody and gave him a hug, which he returned.

"We're both happy, that's all I need right now." Letting go, she turned away and joined Phoenix at the car, buckling in, she asked,

"Ready?" Phoenix grinned.

"Gun it!"

Amanda stood there, her eyes shifting from Phoenix to Nikole, shock evident on her face.

"Have you two ever been told how-"

"How much we look alike?" Phoenix finished for her, a large smile on his face.

Amanda just nodded.

"Yuppy, we get that all the time!" Running past her, throwing his bag onto the couch, Phoenix threw himself in front of the T.V., instantly turning it on. When Amanda looked forward at Nikole, and hint of mistrust was swimming within her eyes, and Nikole, was not ready for what was at hand now.

Then I opened up my mouth.

Grabbing her arm and leading her to their bedroom, Amanda literally threw Nikole inside. Slamming the door so hard, the house shook.

"Explain yourself."

Nikole was silent.

"I swear to ******** God, you better ******** explain right now or so help me." Anger raged on Amanda's face.

"What do you want to know?"

Seething, Amanda started to pace, her hands raking themselves through her rose red hair.

"Why do you two look so much ******** alike!?!"

Nikole looked away.

"Brittany Nikole."

Looking up, Nikole was met with furious emerald eyes.

"He's my son."
