Second Chance
Sinking in my sea of doubts. I see someone across the shore, yet her tears continue to drown me as she cries for all the words I've said. No one knows of what's going on between us because no one understands. Sadly that means no one can save me but her. She turns away no longer adding fuel to the fire, yet the sight of her leaving burns my eyes like acid. Still drowning, she steps away and the sands of time blow in the direction of the wind and with a blink of an eye, she's gone. cry I gave up everything and allowed myself to go under. Enveloped in my memories of the joys I remember even at deaths door. Snatched away by the current of grace, I surface on land as I look to see a genie saved me. Choking on the salvation and grateful for a second, I stand up against everything I did before. Sunlight glistening my face as the darkness of my past is behind me, the genie asks if I have a wish. I tell the genie my wish has been granted already, however I would like the wish to be completed. I wished for a second chance. However, I wished for a second chance with someone ..
