→ Nozomi never really understood how she had come to be. Her mother, Miyoko, was a well-known and very respected member of the scientific community. Zuo, Nozomi's father, was a daring and adventurous Pokemon Ranger. How could these two amazing people produce a child such as her? Whatever math, and preposterous biology, was involved must have been something rather impressive.
Anyways, the story began in the city that is, was and possibly always will be Hearthome. This baby girl was born a minute after her twin brother, Thayin. From the jump, Nozomi had been the city oddball. Why? Who knows. Maybe, just maybe it was destiny. Destiny twas what made her unmindful when she first decided to dance to the music that only reached the petite, girl-child's ears. Or, whenever she pressed her face against a store-front window only to find various customers gawking in astonishment. Whatever the case would've been, the whispers and heated discussions of her playful actions caused a throat clenching sadness to stir within the girl. It hurt to listen to their words. Even if she did consider herself different, abnormal to say the least, it still made tears beg to fall.
Regardless, Nozomi kept a stiff upper lip for her parent's sake. They had no idea the turmoil that had risen up in their child. It mattered not, fore there had been a slim, shimmering light that brightened her dimly lit heart. Thayin, her understanding twin, brother. He alone listened to his sister's strangely worded ramblings. He alone made her feel...normal. The boy had been diagnosed with gastric cancer. His life span had been dramatically reduced after discovering his ailment. Despite his dismal, painful sentence, Thayin still managed to smile when his sister came around. Nozomi lifted his spirits by reiterating her adventures on the outside. He knew there was a beautiful, lively world beyond his four-walled prison, and she was his ticket to that place.
Unfortunately, there were times when the two siblings were not allowed to play together. Those moments apart tore at them both, but Thayin's therapy had to be done. How depressing. It was so lonely when Nozomi's other half was indisposed. Miyoko, seeing how melancholy her baby appeared, had an epiphany.---------STUFF!!!!---------
One fine afternoon after a rigorous day of merriment, Nozomi was surprised to find a familiar vehicle in the driveway. Large, blue-green eyes glimmered brightly as the seven year old came to the realization that her Father had returned home from another high risk mission. Without a second thought, she dashed into their home and wrapped her small arms about his waist. Zuo was in one piece. Being a Pokemon Ranger sent him all over the world, and he loved it. Zuo was a risk taker. Rescuing pokemon in dire need was what got his blood flowing, yet he always ended up back at home safe and sound. Yes, he was in one piece...and had gifts! The rugged man knew his daughter well. He flashed a toothy grin and tossed a pokeball in the air. What came out was none other than--(pause for dramatic effect..) a Turtwig. As soon as the girl's blue-green orbs fell upon the turtle-like creature, her eyes flat-lined. Turtwig's face was dull and emotionless. The only reaction it put forth was a weary yawn.
"...Daddy, I think it is broken..."
A gentle pat to the head was given to her. The man went on to tell his little girl not to fret. That all pokemon have their own unique personalities just as humans do. With those knowledgeable words said, Nozomi lifted the turtwig into an embrace and happily named her Tree. The duo became inseparable to a fault. Where there was a dare to be accomplished, Nozomi was there; while Tree napped. When Nozomi felt the need to dance with straws sticking out of her nose just for laughs; Tree was over in a shaded area wondering what her trainer was thinking. Yes the pair played, and played, and played until one, or both, passed out from exhaustion. And when her energy was spent, Nozomi would pull out blank paper, a pencil and an eraser to sketch out her sleeping turtle; a hobby that would one day give way to her life long aspiration becoming a world famous Pokeartist.
A year had now past and a growing concern that Nozomi's dream of being an artist was putting a damper on honing her skills as a trainer. With the blessing of his uneasy wife, Zuo packed his daughter up and flew her, kicking and screaming, all the way to Pallet Town, Kanto. Nozomi, at first, refused to enjoy the trip. It was not her choice to be stolen from her brother and friends in the first place. Pouting, the eight year old gave her Father the silent treatment all the way to their destination. As they arrived, her mood brightened. The view was breathtaking. Far in the distance were mountain ranges, and the tree line could be made out if one squinted just so. Wide-eyed, Nozomi smiled over at her Father; which he took as a thank you of some sorts. He had been forgiven.
Before she knew it, they had made it to Professor Oak's Laboratory. Nozomi gaped, her Father scolded her and then they greeted the old man. He really was old. All wrinkly, and gray-headed. The men had began to prattle on about the reason Zuo had come to the region. Nozomi however, had her curiosity piqued. Off she went to explore the surrounding areas; including the tall grassy patches just outside Pallet Town. Soon after her expedition began, Nozomi had become lost. Yes lost. Although that minuscule detail did not squash her excitement. As she pressed forward with Tree close beside her, a sudden weight came ramming right into the girl causing her to fall over. This weight had been a Charmander that had busted out from the shrubbery in the opposing direction. Upon further inspection of the fire-type Nozomi found that it had recently been battered and bruised. She had wondered what had happened when the culprit announced his presence. An older trainer that went by the name Donovan. He demanded that his wimp of a pokemon come back to him. The only response that he had received was a challenge; a battle. He accepted, they fought, and he lost. Donovan, after which, scampered back to mommy with his tail between his legs. Nozomi had won her first trainer battle and she gained a new friend from it as well; who she dubbed Blastburn. What the girl had been feeling was immense. She wanted more. Craved the sensation of complete and total domination! And that, was when she decided to, alongside being an artist, train as hard as she could to become the greatest.
The years that followed those two events went by in a whirlwind. She escaped the contest crazed city of Hearthome and explored the remaining land of Sinnoh. What she learned, she incorporated into her paintings and battle style. In each gym based community, she fought hard and conquered. Next she returned to the Kanto region, where she learned movement within her art made her works come to life. In Johto, well lets just say that the public believes she belongs in a mental institution!! The Unova region introduced her to one of her greatest pleasures...the Nimbasa City theme park.
As her journey continued towards the Hoenn Region, Nozomi came across her Father once more. Zuo explained that he had currently been on another rescue mission in the Hoenn region. After listening, and absorbing, Nozomi agreed to accompany him on this last mission before returning to her own journey. The young girl pointed out that the very place they were heading was indeed the spot where the infamous Mewtwo had been spotted (she had read, and heard about it on the news). Excitement consumed her as they made preparations. Finally arriving at the supposed spot, they began their excursion into the forest area that surrounded the mountains. Seemingly walking forever, the father/daughter pair stopped to rest. Zuo told Nozomi to wait in the spot that had been set up for camp while he scouted ahead. Grudgingly, she had to agree. As she waited for his return, Nozomi dozed off into a mild slumber. She awoke some time later tied up in ropes, and her pokemon stolen. Apparently, her Father had been captured and the poachers came for her as well. The next thing she remembered was her Father valiantly fighting off the men, but unfortunately losing his life when he did. Knowing what was coming next, Nozomi bellowed out a sorrowful cry for help. Feeling that it was hopeless, she squeezed her eyes shut so that she would not have to see her own execution. Suddenly, a calm, masculine voice echoed throughout her head trying to ease her worrying. He explained to her that everything will be alright, and that no harm would come to her. For some reason, she believed it and she relaxed tremendously. Opening her tear-filled eyes, she blinked at seeing a tall figure with glowing purple eyes and a long cat-like tail. The figure nodded to her and all went black.
Awaking once more, she noted that the men had disappeared, or rather, she had. She had somehow ended up near a pokemon center that had been in the little town at the base of the moutain, along with the poachers prey. Her memory had been foggy after that, but she did remember her Father's demise and the cat-like creature that appeared to have saved her life.
Anguish consumed her as she haphazardly wandered about Hoenn. Miraculously, she managed to make it back to Sinnoh only to be thrown into an even deeper depression. The news of her brother's illness had been consuming his entire being. The cancer had spread. He was indeed dying. The news tore at her very being. Miyoko, still stricken with the loss of her dearly departed husband, packed up all her belongings, and children, and moved to Goldenrod City, Johto.
Goldenrod City was large and noisy. Their new home was not as large as their previous residence in Hearthome, but Nozomi was satisfied. As long as she had her Mother and brother she knew everything would be alright... Or at least thats what she had hoped.
Thayin's condition only grew worse as the days past. There was nothing Nozomi could do to make his pain cease, however she did manage to smile at her ailing brother as he did for her so many years before. That made her twin happy. It made his passing a little easier as well...
For days, weeks, months the young woman sat within the confines of her room, staring out at the window. The pokemon that had come to adore her so attempted to console their forlorn trainer. First her Father, and now her brother had been taken away from her. What was there to do now? She frowned out the window and down onto the busy sidewalk. It was then that Nozomi made up her mind. She had to go. Go somewhere. Anywhere!
After debating she finally worked up the courage to announce her plans to her Mother. Nozomi had not known why she was so, so terrified. Whatever the cause, Miyoko just smiled and accepted her daughter's decision. With that Nozomi packed up her things, said her goodbyes and went on her way. Out of Goldenrod, out of Johto and into the open arms of the unknown. What lay before the young trainer? She had not known, but at least she was well on her way to rediscovering herself.

→ As a child Nozomi was often described as a kooky, little tot. No one really understood her and her silly antics. While she sat and conversed with thin air the adults, and various children, gaped with mouths wide. The girl would just flash an eerie smile and say something none too appealing. Another attribute would be her insane eagerness to take risks. Nothing's too daring for her. Ask her anything, and she would more than likely do it; no questions asked. Nozomi always had the tendency to act rather cat-like. She can be lazy, independent, and affectionate if she wishes to be. In some cases however, she can be rude and extremely sarcastic. Other than those things, she is utterly random. She loves to get up and dance to music that no one else can hear. Her moods usually change like the ever changing surroundings about her.
As a young adult, however, Nozomi is a tad more mature. Yes, she learned to suppress her insane personality, although not entirely. If she finds a situation too intense, or stressful, she busts a move without even a second thought. But fret not, Nozomi is still the little daredevil she was as a child. She just has to be more careful because her breasts a larger.
