DEDICATED TO MY STEP-GRANDFATHER, WHO PASSED AWAY 2/14/2005
My grandfather was ill with a cancerous lung, And I watched as his frail body his clothes loosely hung. On Valentine's Day night, he went limp in his bed, Breath escaped his lips, my grandpa lay dead.
I awoke in the morning to my step-mother's wails. My body felt compressed by cruel steel rails, For I knew that during the twilight, My poor, dear grandfather lost his life.
Grandpa, I miss you with all my heart, for you were the first to die before me. May God bless your soul, and may you be at peace in Heaven. Thank you for all the wonderful times we had together. I love you.
