I went through a few old journal entries to get my stupid homework poem. Ugh. Well, I found some cool little sentences and strung them together for a different poem. Stupid homework.
When I Remember You
I remember lying my head down on peoples' laps.
They would tangle their fingers in my hair,
Back when it was short and blonde,
and I felt then, that I was at the top of the world.
We could lie down in the hallways,
where the students trod,
and feel like queens.
Our sacred place in the back was a cement kingdom
made up of simple benches and brick stones.
I remember curling up together to wait for our rides.
Naps and playing cards filled up our time.
Somehow we ran away from one another.
That was ten short years ago.
