The car idled as i waited for my daughter to come out to the front parking lot. Minutes went by slowly, anxiously... I called her up on her cell.
"Where are you?"
"Sorry dad, I'm just getting out to the front. I got busy..."
I hung up as I saw her run to my car, carrying more stuff then could ever be healthy for her. She smiled as she got into the car, tossing her bag into the back seat of my mazda.
"Good day today?" I asked her after we got on the main road.
It took her a moment to look away from the window and Realize i was talking to her. "Oh... Yeah. It was."
I let her sit and stew for a few more minutes... "Is something up?"
She shook her head, and returned to the window. Something WAS wrong. What could it be...? I softened a bit. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah, it's just..." She sighed the words out, concentrating more on the passing scenery then on anything else. "Dad...?"
"Yes?"
"I don't know what I want to do, and... I can't even figure out what I <i>might</i> want to do... and everyone else already has it all figured out. Is there something wrong with me?"
"NO! Of course not! Don't worry, you'll figure it out. I promise. If you need help, just ask." I said firmly, gripping the steering wheel as i turned onto our street.
She paused for a moment, maybe she was taking it in. "I know."
"Hey, Pumpkin? I'm always proud of you, and i always will be." I smiled at her over the car as i got out of the car.
"Thanks dad." She said with a smile back.
And then, we walked inside.

that's it ladies and gents. and the story isn't really ABOUT anything... but it's for a contest. the theme is "i wish you'd tell me" and you're supposed to write something you want someone to tell you, from THEIR point of view. so... this is my dad's point of view, talking to me. peace out, homies.
