It started out so clear,
The slight summer breeze messing our hair.
It seemed as though the time stopped just for us.
But in reality, where we forgot we were.
The clouds were starting to thicken.
As we lived our life in this paradise of summer skies and cool breeze
Outside it started to get cold and thick.
When I opened my eyes again I could only see white.
Fog so thick I couldn't see,
I reached out for your hand and only grabbed air.
I yelled for you and it must have been muffled.
No reply, no reply, no reply.
I start walking, trying to find you.
My fears, doubts, and people's lies start filling my head.
I want to stop searching, I want to quit.
Is it all true that I am ruining you?
Is it all true that I am so imperfect?
I want to run but in what direction?
I can't see a thing, no not a damn thing...
I want you there beside me, but these lies are whispering such horrible things.
Do I run and scream for you,
Or just lie down and quit?
When will this fog lift?
When will we find each other again?
They say it is just a hurdle,
But it seems much like a mountain.
Will you ever know about these tears I have cried?
Will you ever hear what I have to say?
Are you trapped in the lies as well?
Are you feeling what I am?
Are you beside me and I just can't see?
Or have you turned your back like everyone else?
How could paradise turn so dark?
How could my happiness I once felt turn into such a disgusting taste?
I am stumbling along with no hope.
I will find my own way through this fog.
This could be the end,
Or you could be waiting for me to see clearly.
They say blood is thicker than water.
Then what am I?
Am I water or lower than that?
I am told to ignore this just move on.
Once the lies are spoken
They are forever there.
When the doubts flare up
They never truly leave.
I try to be perfect but I fall short every time.
I try to breathe but this toxin burns
I can't see the end...
I will surely miss you.
