Life is like a river
Life and time flow whether you are ready for it or not. You gently place a foot into the water when you are born and you don’t realize how quickly you are entering the river. One day you realize the water is up to your waist and you get anxious about how you are going to make it back to the side of the bank, it is too late my friend you can’t get out now. Your waist deep and the water pulls on you forcing you down the set path, even if you try to go the other direction it can only end in heart break as your body gives out and the soil beneath your feet washes away. You start to rush down the river in the set direction. Life is uncertain. Even if you do go with the flow of the river and follow the path in front of you this river is filled with rocks like daggers. They tear you down even when you do everything the right way. Even if you plan to run into the viable rocks there are rocks and valleys under the water. Waiting for some unfortunate person to come and step on them and lose their footing so they too are forced down the river cut by daggers. Even when you plan for everything and step cautiously you find yourself shoulder deep in the water now. As the water splashes your chine you think to yourself, how did this happen I planned for everything. I studied the rocks, estimated their patters, and got a degree for my efforts. Why did I not see there were more challenges? Why did I not know about these treacherous factors while in school? When the water is cutting your nose with its cold splashes you try your best to breath but you sink lower and now, you are struggling to just live. All the studying in the world and all the fancy degrees from prestigious schools can’t save you know. That list of test scores and those achievement awards can’t help you. No one else is around; if they were do you think they would dive in those dangerous waters to help you? Life is uncertain my friend. The river stops for no one, even if your life is threatened, it will continue forever.
