This one is one of my older ones. Written only becuase I could.
THE VOID
I stand there shivering,
Trying to see what it holds.
I look hard into that endless expanse.
I shiver in fear as I stare into the void
that seems to swollow everything.
I study the endless void
and fear what it may hold.
As I stared into the darkness
I imagined what horrors were withheld
in that terrible void.
The darkness goes on forever,
yet I try to peer inside it.
Its presence makes me shiver.
As I felt like something was inside
that peered back at me.
I swear that as I gazed into the void
and tried to see the secret within.
The secret that the void held
leared back at me.
I stared into the void
and jumped as I saw a shadow move.
I peered deeper into the endless darkness.
Dreading what hides inside.
My legs buckled under me,
when I saw the blood red eyes
that glowed like burning embers.
I heard a shrill cry,
as the eyes streaked towards me.
I caught a glimpse of an unspeakable horror
and then it was gone.
Both the beast and the void
have disappeared within a blink
of a flinching eye.
Now I wonder if what I saw
was not real at all or of another reality.
I know not what that horrid thing was
but I'm glad that it is gone.
yes.. very dark this one is. but not as full of emotion as the other one. also it's not as good, as you can see.
