I ran and ran not exactly sure where I was going, but I just knew I had to get away from those men. Whom I was surprised hadn't come after me yet, it was around sunset that I finally collapsed in some abandoned field. I tried to get up but I just couldn't, my breath was coming out in painful gasps. When I finally got my breathing under control I heard hoof beats in the distance and not a far distance either. I began pulling myself, trying to convince my legs that they could carry me just a little further. My breath stopped when a horse came to a stop right next to my head, hot tears flooded my cheeks as the realization came that I'd been caught again. I heard a voice above me, "It’s ok...I'm not hear to harm you. I'm going to take you to safety before you’re killed out here." With that strong hands lifted my up and placed my gently onto the neck of a horse, but when the man climbed back on instead of just leaving me there like I thought he was going to, he pulled me up so that I was cradled in his arms. I'd never felt so safe yet I still couldn't bring myself to trust this stranger.
I let sleep claim me since it was either that and go willingly or faint.
