Next to AWA, school, jobs and other things going on, my grandmother got the results to our African Ancestory today. I am very excited!
Turns out there is a 99.4% match between two—The Balantal/Fulani peoples in Guinea-Bissau, and the Temne peoples in Sierra Leone.
I will definitely be doing research on this. My grandmother wants to go on a trip in the next two or three years (her retirement), and I would like to go at some point too. Second trip to Africa~~
Then, my mother called me and told be about the History Channel playing the 9/11 event all day. I may not be all that much patriotic, but it makes me weep a little inside to hear about families losing their loved ones on a terrorist attack. Today, my family did a prayer on world peace, and on the 25th, we will be using floating lanterns in memory of Mike, who would have turned 23 on that day.
And, sorry for my rant, but hearing about this one lady talk about Obama made me think. Because three things came out of people’s mouths when they heard I was going to be voting for the first time—I should vote for McCain because Sarah’s from Alaska, I should vote for Clinton because she’s a woman, and the most common one yet—you should vote for Obama because he’s black.
Non-legitimate REASONS, people!! Can’t I vote for someone because they have ideas I agree with, from the Iraq War to gay marriage? Like, seriously! I have my own mind, and I am damn well gonna use it to vote for who I want to vote for. It maddens me when people hear I will be voting for Obama and they go “Oh, of course you will, you’re black!” Any opinions?
And speaking of which, I will be volunteering for the Obama campaign close to where I live.

I am seriously working on backgrounds. I looked at a lot of my pictures and thought “Hey, this would look good in this kind of BG…. This should at least be blue…. The grass needs to be finished….” And yet ideas come into my head. I recently drew two anthro drawings (lion), and one of my friends Krystal said I’m probably tapping into my spirit, haha! We’ll see how things work out.

Holy crap!
I got my ticket, my friends are letting me stay in the hotel (with a price, of course) and my outfit is (almost) finished. I still regret not going this year as Flamon, but eh, whateva.
For all those Digimon fans who love to go to conventions, the Digimon Fans group on Gaiaonline are coming up with a plan to meet up at a convention next year. Details WILL come soon, we just need to figure out which one. The list so far consists of Otakon, Animazement and one… I am forgetting. Dx But news will be all over where I’m at online (this includes Gaiaonline itself, DA, LJ, and Facebook).
