TITLE: Digital Overload
FANDOM: Digimon: Digital Monsters
PAGES: Perhaps between 300-500 for each season? And I’m not exactly sure how many pages for the all-season book. I suppose that would depend on how many people contribute, and how many pages the book itself would take up, hahaa~
SIZE: Either A4 or A5
PRICE: $5-$10 for a specific season book, $20-$30 for a special all-season book (once again, depends on the number of pages)
INFO: I’ve wanted to do this for awhile, but wasn’t sure how to go about it. So I guess this would be a tossed salad idea?
Anyways, I want to make a Digimon Anthology that other Digimon fans would like to enjoy reading/making, and 100% of the money would go towards the earthquakes of Haiti and Chile, or other disasters in the near future. HOGOD, let’s hope that doesn’t happen!
Each season will get its own book, since I know there are those few who prefer just the Adventure seasons, or ones who are only interested in Savers, etc. etc… and a special, super-thick book that specializes in all five seasons. If this thing goes successfully, I want there to be a lot of features that are not shown in the single-season books and perhaps a poster or something, as a special thanks for going the extra mile in helping people from all over the world. smile
FAN ART: Art from Digimon fans, of course! One thing I love looking at is Digimon art, and I’m sure it goes for a lot of you, too! I want to gather a bunch of artists who would like to contribute to the book, so if you’re up for it, hit me up!
- New art is preferred, but not required. It’s just a way for the buyers to see new art rather than the ones they seen already on DA, oekaki sites, etc. etc.
- 300+ dpi
- I would like the formats to be in PNG, (high resolution) JPG, BMP or PDF, if possible
- Finished work is preferred, but I did want to add a small section near the end of sketches and things like that, so if you have those too, then submit! :’D
- If you have a specific pairing that you like, then it’s fine. MxF is okay, MxM is okay, FxF is okay, etc. etc. But please keep it PG-13, ‘kay?
DOUJINSHI: -- and for those who like to turn their stories and drawings into comics, then go for it!
- Short comics, 4-komis, etc. etc. are okay, it’s just basically a range of comics.
- 300+dpi
- PNG, (high resolution) JPG, BMP or PDF format, if possible
- The comics can be in any genre you like, it doesn’t matter too much to me.
- Doujinshi’s seem to kinda get away with a lot of R-Rated things, but I think to be on the safe side, keep it clean. Anything that needs warnings, let it be KNOWN~
FAN FICTION: For those who think their strong point is story making, this one’s for you!
- Remember to keep it decent. Warnings for the stories, if necessary (blood/violence/sex/etc. etc.) Stories for a more mature audience needs to be KNOWN~
- If you would like to submit drabbles, one-shots or flat out NaNoWriMo novels, then that’s fine. But if there is a chance that we run out of space, I may have to ask that you guys, if the story is too long, could give out a link at the end for the rest of the story to FF.N/DA/LJ, etc. etc. if you would like to continue the story that way.
- PDF or Microsoft Word Documents are okay.
- It’s okay if you have OC’s in stories, as long as Digimon (or the humans) are involved.
- New stories are preferred, but not required.
COSPLAY: There are a lot of really cool cos players of Digimon that I really love/envy. So, for my disappointment of only being able to cosplay as Kouji Minamoto, Takuya Kanbara and Flamon, this section goes out to you peeps~!
- PNG (high resolution) JPG, BMP or PDF format is okay
- It doesn’t necessarily have to be just human characters; it can be of Digimon as well.
ETC: I wanna see if I can do something along the lines of tutorials (whether it is of making Digital props or doing art, etc. etc.), interviews, maybe a poster or something like that. We’ll see how that all works out. :3
The last few pages will also feature profiles of the contributors, and where you can find them.
OTHER: If anyone has any ideas or suggestions to make this idea better, then let me know, okay? I also want to find a good printing company, but the only one I could think of is Lulu.com. I bought one of splash’s doujinshi’s last year from them, and a few of the pages kinda looked like it got stuck onto another page and you could faintly see the lettering on them. Still love the doujinshi, though, you go girl! :’DDD
I was also hoping that someone else would help me out on this book (preferably someone more experienced with this kind of thing than I, hahaa~). Sorta like a co-founder for the book. I say that because for one, it’s gonna be a lot of work on my own, and because (in case some of you didn’t know) I’ll be gone for the US Air Force in May, starting with BMT. With that being said, I want to either get everything finished up by the end of April or the beginning of May, or perhaps if there is just not enough time, perhaps I’ll get a chance to use internet after BMT, which is around July 19th (HOSNAP, right after Otakon; so sorry I can’t make it to see all of the awesome Digimon cos players, I would be graduating in Texas at the exact same time!)
It would kinda be cool though, since it would mean that the book would be out right around DIGIMON’S ANNIVERSARY~
Posting around, for maybe even a spark of interest~
