Tsunade: THAT'S ENOUGH! Focus on the mission you two! Kakashi: Forgive me Lady Tsunade..But I believe that they're just restless from waiting so long. If we say, went into the village tomarrow, we could scope out the place. Look for any thing unusual. He raised a hand in suggestion. Naruto: Yeah Grandma Tsunade! Why can't we go in tomarrow?! Tsunade: Cool it Naruto. I'll think about it. I opened my eyes, and returned to the normal sights of the meadow before me. Rei sat down beside me, and I jumped. Rei: What's wrong? Karin: Nothing! You just scared me! I leaned over and kissed me. Rei: Sorry love. Here. He passed me my bowl of soup, and a spoon. Karin: *I'll tell you later.* He turned and looked at me suspiciously. Karin: *LA-TER* He turned back to looking around as I started eating. At least the soup had meat in it. I ate quickly, tipping the bowl for the rest of the broth. I spun around on the floor and set the bowl behind me, then spun backto let my legs dangle off the side of the house. Rei: I've never seen you eat that fast... Karin: I was hungry! Rei: I know that, but still... A few minutes went by. Rei: I want you to know that I had thought about leaving you here..when I was chasing Oruki. I told the village I was going to search for him- and for them to watch for you and assure my safety. Your brother stopped me and took Kamareru and Hari with him. He told me to go back to you. He said I was the most important man to the village. He kept staring ahead. Rei: I was going to leave until you came to me. Love, I knew your condition before Kusuri told me. I could feel the imbalance in your body when I touched you. I leaned over and rested my head against his shoulder. He reached over and wraped his arms around my stomach, pulling me inbetween his legs. Rei: I knew..and I wanted to keep you to myself. To let me keep everything under control..I'm sorry love. He kissed my hair. I reached up and caught his jaw, turning it as I stretched up. He kissed me, and we stayed like this for a while, our eyes closed. I pulled my head away, and looked at him as he smiled. Karin: You can't tame a wild beast if your heart lies with it's freedom. I forgive you Rei. The sun started to set behind the trees, and I scanned the edges of the meadow for Damian. My hand drifted back into my lap. Karin: I'm afraid for him. Rei: He will come back home love, don't be afraid. His gentle hands spread out on my stomach. I put my hands on his and looked up. Karin: Rei..do you want a boy? He looked startled. Rei: Love..*sigh*...I'll love you all the same whether our child be a boy or a girl. You know this. Karin: I like the name Quincey. Rei: For a girl? That seems too boy-ish. Karin: For if it be a boy Rei. Quincey. Rei: I like it. But that means I get to choose for the girl's name. ^ ^ Karin: Fine. Any ideas? Rei: Give me time to think about it...I have a few couple of months to choose the right name anyways. I got darker and darker. Karin: Rei, I wanna go in. The bugs are starting to bite. I smashed one in my hands, and shook my hands of the remains. Rei: Alright. Rei slid back, giving me room to stand and walk inside as he stood, pushing the door shut. Rei: Alright. What's wrong. What did you see? He turned, and joined me on the couch. Karin: Tsunade is planning on a visit tomarrow... With Uzimaki Naruto, Nara Shikamaru, and Hatake Kakashi along with her. Rei: Should I tell the villagers to be on alert? Karin: NO. I want everything to be normal. They know not to be themselves until the threat is removed. I rubbed my eyelids. I was getting another headache. Rei: I want you to go ahead to bed. I'll stay up and watch for Roji, and come tell you when I come to bed. Karin: Um'kays. I kissed him quickly, and got up. Rei watched me as I walked down the hall to bed. I closed the door behind me. Rei: *Darn..I was hoping she'd leave the door open..* He gritted his teeth. He held his head in his hands, and stared at the floor inbetween his feet. Rei: I'm going to be a father... He whispered. Rei: *Darn it! This will be hard..Haikri's not one to complain...Which means I might irratate her to my death with questions.. Plus this waking sickness thing, and Last but most importantly, Tsunade could be here tomarrow...Oh crap... What have I done? I've put my wife out of commision for at least nine months...* His brown hair covered his face, and his hands that held him from falling to peices. He got up and went outside, closing the door softly behind him. The slightest bit of a sliver of the moon gave light on his pale, worried face. His stepped down the three concrete steps to the ground, but left his shoes behind. He stared at them for a moment, but turned and walked on. Rei: Love..what have I done to you?! What do I deserve to have you in the first place, and now you'll be miserable all because I'm the screwed up one that got you pregnant! He yelled at himself as he walked away from the house. I watched him from the window. He suddenly collapsed to his knees, leaning back and setting on his feet. His head hung low, his hair shadowing his usually emotionless face. His body was shaking. I ran out of our room, and through the back door, running around the house for him. I tripped once, but didn't hit the ground. I fell on my knees beside him, and grabbed one of his arms. I put my hand in his and held it tight. Karin: Rei! Love! I'm here! Shh.. I crawled in front of him, and leaned my head against his. His body shook violently, and I could see the tips of his hair were damp with tears. Karin: I'm here for you Rei. Shh...I love you.. everything will be alright.. He unfolded his legs, and held his other arm wide. I twisted my hand so I could crawl into his lap, and lean against him, gently rocking. His arm closed around my back, and our clasped hands held us together. I reached up with our intertwined hands and touched his face. He looked up at me, his fingers sliding around my wrist as my hand flattened against his cheek. His mouth twitched, and I could see his beautiful green eyes flooded with tears. He shut his eyes, and they flowed down his gorgeous face. Rei: I-I'm..so sorry..love... Karin: About what Rei? What's wrong? Rei: This..i-is all m-my fault! I wipped away a flow of tears with my hand from his right eye. Karin: Love..it's not! It's not either of us at fault! Our love brought this apon us- a miracle and a blessing- not a curse Rei. Rei: I- don't wan-na see.. you..in pain love. I-I don't want y-you to be mis-erable! He let go of my hand and brought my lips to his, kissing me like this was the last time he did before his death. I was so disturbed- worried- afraid. A tear rolled down my face, and off my chin, shinning in moonlight. My face was completely serious, caring, but my eyes burned with hate, passion, and fear. His lips withdrew. Karin: Rei..do you want me to leave the village? For my safety? Just because you don't want to see me hurt? Rei: Yes.. He seemed to be snapping out of it- I had stolen his tears, and he had made his choice. Rei: I want you to go back to your home Karin. They can take care of you better there. I can work as the Omnikage while your gone- and this won't be as stressful for you. Karin: Rei NO! I need you..please! Please don't leave me..Please!! Rei: I'M NOT GOING TO BE THE ONE WHO SEES YOU DIE! THEY CAN TAKE CARE OF YOU THERE! And...you'll be SAFE! My fingers held tightly to his shirt as the salty tears stained it. Rei: Kamareru is on his way. He'll make sure you get home. Go get what you'll need. He took off his shirt, letting me hold it as he pushed me away. Rei: GO! I ran back toward the house, and tripped fully this time, pulling myself slowly off the ground. I ran into the door, and my nose started bleeding. I couldn't see if I had left it open from the tears. I shoved open the door in rage and took my medical bag, and stuffed it full of clothes. I tossed my bottle in there too, and wrapped my Akatsuki robe around me, covering me completely in black. His shirt was still in my bad hand as I shifted back to normal Haikri. I wipped the tears from my eyes, and came back out of the front door, setting on the first step. I heard myself suck in air and just cry myself into loss and worry. A hand came to my shoulder, and I looked up into the face of Kamareru. Kamareru: Teleportation Jutsu.. His face looked terrified, and in a state of mourning. It was raining at the hide-out, and Kamareru led me to the door, and knocked. Kamareru: Good-bye Haikri-sama...I'm sorry. Teleportation Jutsu. He dissappered beside me, and a light made me blink, and shy away. Kisame: Lilliea..Haikri? He ushered me in, and closed the door behind me. Kisame: Can I get you something..someone? Haikri: Is-is my room still unlocked? Kisame: Yeah, of course. Haikri: Is Itachi still up? Kisame: Of course! Haikri: Can you tell him that I need him? I walked past him as he jumped with surprise. I folded down my hood, and walked down the dark hallway to my room. I pushed open the door slightly, seeing the same bed..the same furniture, the same mirror. I had left some clothes here before, but I knew that wouldn't be enough. I started unpacking, putting things away. I put my medical bag by the door, and my bottle of pills on the night stand. I unbuttoned my robe, and hung it up too, crawling into bed and pulling the covers to my knees, my head resting on them. I didn't turn the light on, I just sat there and sulked. Crying my heart out for him as I threw his shirt against the wall. It landed on the floor with a thump, and a shadow appeared at the door. Itachi: Haikri-kun? Haikri: Ita-chi! My voice broke as I cryed his name. He ran up and crawled up to me on my bed. He sat down beside me, and pulled me close to him. Itachi: What's wrong with my wolf? Haikri: Rei... kic-ked m-me out of the village..! Itachi: Why did he do that? Did something come up? I nodded as my body shook. Haikri: I-I'm..pre-pregnant Itachi-san! He d-din't wa-nt mme ar-r-ound! I cryed out. I felt a surprise jolt from Itachi. Itachi: Are you even sure the child's his? We've been together longer than he has been with you. It could be possible...That the child's ours. Haikri...you haven't been away even for a whole month yet.. He pulled my head towards his with his voice and with his touch on my jaw. He kissed me lightly, and whisppered in my ear. Itachi: Haikri-kun..if you would have just stayed with me...This wouldn't had been hard..I promise to love you past death...I'll be here for you...I'm sorry I couldn't stop the marriage.. I hugged Itachi's neck, holding onto the man I had left. I promise to love you past death... Haikri: Itachi..I'm st-a-aying here with you. I-I'm nnever leaving you a-again! I-I promise to love y-you past e-etern-ernity-and- He kissed me again, quieting my sobs, and my fears. Itachi: Do you want me to sleep here with you tonight? Haikri: Please don't leave me..please don't... I whimpered quietly into his hair.He ran his fingers through my hair softly, and pulled the covers up over us. Itachi: Shhh...I'm here Haikri-kun...shhh.. I fell asleep in his arms, my tears staining his shirt. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Itachi: Haikri-kun~ It's morning. Time to wake up. His hand brushed a lock of hair from my eyes. I looked up at him and smiled, then frowned. Itachi: Come on love. I'll make you breakfast. I rolled over and stretched, arching my back. Haikri: Morning... I rolled back over and kissed his cheek. Haikri: And breakfast sounds good.. I sat up and held my forehead with a hand. Itachi: You alright? Haikri: I'm fine. It'll wear off. Itachi got up and grabbed my robe, wrapping it around my shoulders. I swung my feet out of bed. Itachi: Hold on 'kay? He bent over, and I wrapped my arms around his neck. He caught my back as he lifted me up, and held my knees up. I closed my eyes as I lay my head in the hollow between his neck and collar bone. He some how managed to open the door, and shuffled out into the hallway. Haikri: Itachi-san..I can walk. Itachi: No-one's up yet. It won't matter. And you aren't that heavy yet. Kisame didn't tell anyone of your coming back but me. Haikri: Um 'kay... I whispered against his skin. His black hair fell over mine, making it darker underneath my eyelids. His walked steadily, and I felt him turn. Itachi: I'm turning the light on. Careful of your eyes. Haikri: Mmm'hmm. Ok. The light flickered on, and not even his dark hair could keep out the light. I blinked, and looked around, seeing the all familair kitchen. Itachi: I have to tell you..Deidara's been cooking the last few weeks while you were gone. He won't let me cook. So I get up early and cook for myself before he gets up. He set me down on a bar stool. I leaned on the counter with my elbows. Itachi: What do you want to eat? He started wahing his hands, and smiled at me. I got up, leaving my robe on the chair. Haikri: I dunno.. but I wanna cook with you. I kissed him as the water ran. I let him breathe, and soaped up my hands. He had a dazed look on his face, then it cleared. It soon turned into a battle over the water. I pushed him over with my hip. Haikri: Share! I bit my bottom lip playfully. Itachi: Sure! He flicked his fingers at me, sending water flying at my face as he ran backwards. Haikri: Oh no you just didn't do that! I stuck my hands in the water, and flicked some back, turning off the faucet. I laughed and ran after him. He hid behind a wall, and caught me by the waist as I jogged by. Haikri: Ahh! Itachi! ~ haha! I laughed as he tickled me. He stopped, afraid I was hurt, and leaned over my shoulder, still smiling. Itachi: Now! What did you want for breakfast? Haikri: Anything! Really! He picked me up and carried me by my waist over to thwe counter and set me down. I walked over to the fridge. There was some milk, and some eggs. I closed it and grabbed the pancake batter off the counter. Itachi: Pancakes? I hid behind the container, showing only my eyes. I nodded, narrowing my eyes. He pushed down the box of batter and kissed me on the nose. Haikri: Ha! You missed! Itachi: Who said that I was trying to catch your lips?
I looked down at the floor unsure of myself, and my actions. I felt whoozy, tired all the time. Itachi: Something wrong? Haikri: I-I think I need to sit down... Everything was spinning. Itachi took the container and put it on the counter. He took my hand, and looped a arm around my back, leading me back to my stool. He walked slowly, to see if I would snap out of it. I sat down, letting go of his hand. I sat straight up, normally. I winced against my body's warnings, and made myself fight the effects of this back, the dizziness deepening. I hit my fist on the counter, hard, and tried to gain a hold on my spinning mind. Itachi watched. He soon turned and got to work on the pancakes, glancing over every once in a while to make sure I was ok. I focused a bit, and was able to watch him without looking confused. The dizziness soon faded away, and I smiled as he looked at me again. Itachi: You ok now? Haikri: Yeah, I'm good.. How are the cakes of the pan coming? Itachi: What? Oh- They're almost done. He put the spatula between his teeth and ran over to the fridge, grabbing butter and syurp out of the side conpartment. He set them on the counter in front of me, rushing back to the stove. He grabbed a plate from a cabinent above, and set it on the countertop beside him, and took the cooking utensil from his mouth. He pushed four good sized pancakes onto the plate, and brought it over to me. Itachi: Here ya go. If you can't finish all of them I'll help. Haikri: Um' kays. I grabbed a fork out of the drawer on the end of the bar, along with a butter knife. I put butter on the pancakes, along with syurp, and started eating as he started to wash his dishes. He finished, and drug a stool over to sit in front of me as I finished my second pancake. Haikri: *points at him with my fork* You're not eating? Itachi: Na. I'll eat later. I pushed my plate over to him. Itachi: Can't eat any more? I shook my head side to side. Haikri: Not another bite. Thank you. I leaned over the bar and kissed him lightly. Haikri: I'm gonna go get ready for the rest of the day 'kay? Itachi: Alright. He smiled as he took a bite from my plate with another fork he had laid out. He watched me as I walked out. I walked down the hall, back to my room. I kept a hand on the wall just in case I got dizzy again. I closed my door behind me, and turned the light on. It burned my eyes again as I looked through one of drawers for some clothes. I grabbed a pair of jeans and a tank, and pulled my pajamas off. I slipped into my tanktop, which was tight enough to show an extra curve. I pulled on my jeans, buttoning them and zipping them up. I grabbed a hair tie out of my medical bag, and put my hair up in a loose bun, peices falling down around my ears and eyes. I opened my door, and walked out, my toes popping as I stood on my toes and shut the door quietly behind me. I made my way back down the hall. Thoughts of last night flooded into my mind as the darkness of the hallway started to turn bright. I closed my eyes and put a hand over my mouth. Haikri: *You WILL NOT cry Haikri. YOU WON'T!* I kept walking, and stood in the doorway of the kitchen. Itachi was putting away the plate and our forks. He looked up, and saw me. He walked over and offered me his arms again. I walked into him, burying my face into his chest as the tears overflowed. His arms wrapped around me, one wrapping around my shoulders, the other around my waist. He rocked back and forth. Itachi: It's alright. Don't worry...I'm here... Haikri: I'm so sorry....I-I'm so pathetic.. Itachi: You are not! Stop thinking that! I looked up at his serious face. He kissed my forehead. Haikri: All of this will change Itachi-kun...I won't be as strong during this.. Itachi: ... You have my strenght. Haikri-kun..your never alone...I'll protect you. Haikri: And what happens when your gone Itachi?! What happens when Sasuke finds the flipin' nerve to hunt you down?! He didn't have an answer for that. He just stared blankly at the wall in front of him. I felt him sigh. Haikri: Do you want to know the real reason Itachi!? Do you want to know why Rei sent me here??! Itachi looked at me as I pushed myself away. Haikri: It was because I was weak- and Tsunade was planning to be at the village today! I couldn't hold up a transformation jutsu! Itachi eyes narrowed. Itachi: Have you told leader about this? Haikri: Of course not you idiot! A minute passed in silence. Haikri: *If anyone wants to talk with me, I'm going for a walk.* Itachi: Wait- Haikri- I teleported outside, and started walking. He was being so inconsiderate! 'Have you told leader about this?' What stupid question! Couldn't that fool see how upset I was??! I tryed to focus on the things around me, not on things in the past. My pace slowed as I focused in on nature itself. The pines gave off a sweet smell, and the birds were singing their sweet songs to me. The sky was a pale blue, the effects of the sunrise fading away. My eyes scanned every place for anyone who might have been watching- I always had that feeling that I was not alone. Then a thought came to me. Haikri: *Why couldn't I visit the village? I am their leader, and it's not as if I don't have a few tricks left...Hm.* My eyes turned joyous at the fact that I could still go back. Haikri: Invisiblity Jutsu! Teleportation Jutsu! I didn't hide my advanced chakra levels. I knew this would be fun if I didn't screw up the Invisibility Jutsu. I leaned against a tree as I saw Naruto enter the meadow. Haikri: Hmm now..lets have some fun! he he! ^ ^ I ran past him, giving him a burst of air that tiped him over. Naruto: What the heck was THAT!?!? Shikamaru: Probably just your imagination Naruto... Naruto: No! I definatly felt something! Really! Kakashi: Naruto! We didn't see anything- calm down. Naruto: Awhhhh!! Why do you guys never believe me?! Tsunade: Because your still a Genin - Brat. I walked beside Kakashi, and stared at him hardly. I saw his eyes turn my way, and he pulled a kuni out of his bag. He pulled it through the air, in my direction. I ducked, and laughed. Tsunade stoped and looked around. Tsunade: Kakashi- Kakashi: Yes. I know that laugh too Shikamaru looked like he was paralized in fear. Shikamaru: Haikri... He whispered it lightly. I strode over to him, and put a finger to his lips. Haikri: *Shhhhh...I'm only here as fun- I wish not to hurt you my Shikamaru Nara. But still- you will tell them I'm here..Hmm..What fun that will be! Let's play a game of hide and seek! he he!~ I'll become my old self, but~ I will be only visible to you. he he! Your friends will be totally blind! You will have to guide them- without you being able to move yourself!* I put down my hand from him. Shikamaru: Tsunade-sama... Tsunade: What is it Shikamaru?! Shikamaru: She wants to play a game... Kakashi stared at him with disbelief. Tsunade: A Game?!? Who do you think we are Haikri??! Shikamaru: Tsunade-sama..There are rules. She will be only visible to me...but you have to at least touch her to win. Haikri: *Oh, and tell them that if they win, I'll reveal myself. Of course I'll keep you all still while I do. He he!* Shikamaru winced as I poked the side of his head. Naruto: What do we get for winning?? Shikamaru: I'm getting to that..She says that if we win, she'll show herself..but we'll be under a binding jutsu. Tsunade: Heh. Fair enough. What if she wins? Kakashi: And if there is a time limit. Haikri:* He he! They have good questions!! When the sun is directly above you, Shikamaru, the game is over. And if I win...Hmm...I'll pick one of you to die.~* Shikamaru trembled. Naruto: What? What is it Shikamaru?? Shikamaru: She said we have until the sun is directly over me.. Tsunade: If she wins...? Shikamaru: She takes one of our lives. Tsunade: We'd better win then- now shouldn't we?? Kakashi and Naruto put down their packs beside Shikamaru. I appeared in front of Shikamaru, and smiled. Haikri: Ready? Set? GO! I stood still. Naruto: Where is she???! Shikamaru: Right in front of me. Haikri: Come now Naruto! This is boring just standing here. Naruto growled. Kakashi: Wait Naruto! We need to think this out- Naruto rushed forward, and sent a punch into Shikamaru's gut. Shikamaru: Nar-uto!!!!!!!!!!!!! Naruto: ooops...sorry? Haikri: Over here! I sent kuni flying in Tsunade's and Kakashi's direction. Tsunade: There! Go! Kakashi suddenly disappeared. Shikamaru: *Kakashi! To my right! and Forward! No wait! she moved! Left!* Kakashi appeared right next to me, throwing kuni in all directions around him. I let one stab my in my shoulder, just to give them a hint. I knew the blood wouldn't be effected by the Invisiblity Jutsu. Haikri: Ow...You would hurt your own student..and your daughter?? Wow- what a harsh man! I pulled the kuni knife from my shoulder, and let the blood flow. Naruto tip toed up behind me and I leaned right, avoiding his grasp. Haikri: Almost Naruto. Tsunade? Aren't you going to play?? I might just win! Tsunade: Naruto! Use your shadow clone jutsu! It will be easier that way! Haikri: Nice work! you may just win early!! he he! Naruto: Shadow Clone Jutsu! Narutos appeared everywhere, circling a large area which surrounded Shikamaru and part of the woods. Haikri: I'll make this easier for you Naruto! I won't use any jutsu other than the one's I'm using now! I yelled to the real one. Naruto: Get her! The Narutos reponded with yeahs, but seemed confused. Shikamaru started yelling out directions. I grabbed needles out of my back pocket, and held them at the ready as they started to run towards me. Shikamaru: Watch out Naruto! She still has needles and kuni!! They still ran forward, and I jumped onto one's arm. Shikamaru: Reach UP! Hands in the air Naruto! Haikri: *I'm getting bored. I feel like just letting you win!* My morning sickness hadn't all worn off, and the running was starting to effect my breathing and my thought processes. I jumped from head to head, throwing a needle in each. Poof! Poof! Poof Poof! The walls of the area decreased, and the hands were getting closer to touching my ankles and pulling me down. The Narutos could see the blood running down my shoulder, so I wipped it off onto the inside of my hand. Kashi got in the middle, and saw the flash of blood on my hand. as I passed by, he caught my ankle. Haikri: Oh well..Might have been you anyways. Kakashi: I got her Naruto! The rest of the Narutos poofed away, and I fell to the ground as Kakashi let go. They gathered together, regaining their packs. I descided to let them see the real me- the me that I even covered up at the Akatsuki base. The cursed me. Haikri: Are you all situated? Naruto: Of course you twit! Just show yourself already. Haikri: Ok. I let myself appear starting from the feet upwards. Their feet were practicly glued to the ground as the rest of me appeared. Tsunade: Haikri.... I waved smiling. The curse mark wound around my left arm, and down my left leg to about the knee. The mark had already consumed an eye, and was twirling around the second. Haikri: This what you expected? I walked over to Kakashi and hugged him. Haikri: Ya know, sometimes I miss you. I could see his expresion soften under the mask as I let him go and backed off. I turned to Naruto. Haikri: I'm still all for you becoming the Hokage some day kid. You'll be a great leader of the Village of the Leaves. He kept his facial expresions serious. I smiled innocently. I expected boasting. I walked over to Shikamaru, and looked him in the eyes, sighing. I looked down, wishing more of him. Shikamaru: I was hoping to find you here... Haikri: I believe you have gotten your wish. I turned to stare Tsunade down with an evil smile. Haikri: Your day will come Tsunade! Death will come.. A breeze swept by, and I let it blow me into a Teleportation Jutsu back to the hide-out. I opened the door, seeing Itachi laying on the couch. Asleep. I walked down the hall towards the noise. Kitchen. I stood in the door way. Everyone was there, eating. Deidara was washing dishes. Haikri: ....Do I get a warm welcome back or what?? They all turned their heads toward my voice. Skye: AUNTIE!!!!!!!!!!!! She got up and ran over, hugging me to beyond choking. Haikri: Alright..Skye..can't breathe... Skye: Oooops..sorry. Where have you been? I mean, you could have visited us sooner! Haikri: I was here last night. Skye: Why didn't you come get me??! *pout* I looked down. Haikri: I was really tired Skye. It was late. Konan: Come girlie! I get a hug too! I walked over to the blue haired woman and gave her a hug. Konan: How have you been? Haikri: Um..well.. there is something I need to tell all you guys... There is a reason no-one else came to visit. Rei kicked me out of the village. Mummbles sounded. Deidara: Why the heck did he do that, Hmmm? Haikri: A chance of Tsunade visiting the village....And the fact that...I'm pregnant. Konan: Oh. My. God. Skye: Wait..this means..I'll be An AUNT!?!? Haikri: Yep. Hidan: Whose kid? Haikri: ... It's- Itachi: Ours. Itachi came in and wrapped his arms around me tightly. Deidara: I knew you'd claim her eventually Itachi, yeah. Zetsu turned away as the others planned this and that, what I could do, and when. Konan was going to tailor my clothes for some 'growing room' for later on. Some of the members were quiet about the matter, and said they wouldn't mind me sticking around for a few months. Zetsu looked up again. Zetsu: Have you thought of a name? Haikri: I like the name Quincey if it's a boy, but we don't have a girl's name picked yet. Itachi: Quincey? He whispered insanely in my ear. Zetsu turned back to his plate again, satisfied. Itachi: Alright- Mom needs her rest. Haikri: Bye guys! I waved as Itachi pushed me out the doorway and into the hallway. He opened his bedroom door, and ushered me inside. I ran up and crawled onto his bed as he closed the door behind him. Itachi: Quincey. Haikri: Calm down- we'll agree on a name later. He crawled onto the bed too as I lay down on my back. It was pretty dark in there since Itachi had closed the door and hadn't bothered to turn the light on. I closed my eyes. He crawled up over me, his hands at my shoulders. He kissed me, gentle and warm. My arms reached up to wrap around his neck as his hair fell to dangle on my skin. Haikri: Why did you stop? Itachi: Because we shouldn't go any further than that. I pouted in the dark, but didn't let go of him. I opened my eyes. Haikri: Why not? Itachi: Because you were out flirting with death his morning. I lowered myself down back onto the bed. Haikri: It wasn't that much effort- Itachi: It was that much effort that started to make you feel ill! I don't want you to be sick all the time.... He pushed up my shirt so he could put a hand on my stomach. Itachi: ..So nothing bad can happen to this. I blushed, and he pulled my shirt back over my belly. Haikri: Itachi-san, I'm strong enough. Itachi: You are now. But maybe not later down the road your traveling. Haikri: Can I at least hang out with Skye? I'm sure she won't have me dead before nine months have rolled around. I'm still capable of moving ya know. Itachi laughed quietly under his breath. Itachi: How about sticking to taking care of Zetsu's plants..or..cooking!! Haikri: Now you know that isn't any fun. He sighed. Itachi: Fine. But! If you feel tired or sick at all you rest ok? I have missions still to go on. You remember that. Haikri: Don't get murdered. Please. I don't know what I would do. My eyes scanned his face in the dark. Itachi: I'll try. Haikri: When do you leave? Itachi: In the morning. I sighed mournfully. Itachi: It's just a scouting mission. I wouldn't be in any immediate danger love. My eyes still swept across the planes of his face, worry gleeming from them. Haikri: Is someone going with you? Itachi: ....That is up to Leader to descide. A silence followed as I pulled down on his neck, wanting him to stay. He swayed his head back and forth, and kissed my forehead lightly. Itachi: I need to go train. I'm too lazy..and slow. Haikri: Are NOT! He laughed quietly. Itachi: No, it is not another excuse to get away from you. I love you Haikri. Remember that for me. He caught a srand of hair by my eye and pulled it behind my ear. Itachi: I have to go. He started backing up, and stopped to kiss my belly underneathe him. He looked up at me with his carefree smile, and crawled the rest of the way off his bed, walking to the door. Itachi: Get some sleep alright? You were up till one last night. I pulled the covers over me, and I could see Itachi's fearful glance as he closed the door. I turned on my side and treid to sleep...it didn't work. I felt so awake. After 30 minutes I used Genjutsu to knock me unconscious. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz The room was a bit brighter when I woke. I squinted at the light and got up, feeling queezy. I straightened my tank top, and walked towards the door, a hand on my head. My forehead was slightly warmer than it should have been. I tried to ignore my stomach as I closed Itachi's beedroom door behind me. I walked towards the kitchen, and looked for the clock above the sink. Haikri: Only 11:09?... I dropped my hand from my forehead and reached to open a cabinet. I grabbed a glass, and shut the door. As I turned, I lost my grip, and I watched as the glass fell to the floor, shattering into millions of shining fragments. I gasped as I took a step back. My eyes flashed over the shards, and I kneeled down. I started gathering the sharp peices in my hands as Deidara ran in. Deidara: You alright, yeah? Haikri: Uh- s-sure...I just..lost my grip.. I felt a hand on my shoulder. Deidara: How about you go watch TV while I clean this up, Hmm?? Haikri: Deidara- I can- Deidara: You heard me! TV time! Shoo! He grabed my hand and lead me out of the kitchen, pushing me in the direction of our so-called 'TV room'. Which wasn't much more than a few couches, and some scattered coffee tables in a room all focused on a plasma-screen TV. He turned once the light from the kitchen was almost unnoticeable, and hurried back to the kitchen to clean the glass off the floor before some helpless soul ventured into the kitchen for a snack. I walked along the wall, my stomach still unsettle. I hoped that water would do the trick, but I couldn't even get water into a glass. My arm throbbed, along with the left side of my face. Curse-aches...they never were this bad before the mission to eliminate the Fifth Hokage. I winced at the flames that scorched me from the inside out. Konan was siting on the couch, flipping through our long list of channels. Konan: You ok girlie? She urned to stare at me with a worried look. Haikri: No- I-I'm not... The blue-haired woman sprang from the couch, putting a hand to my forehead. Konan: Hmmm....Come on...I have just the thing. I know what your in need of! She smiled and grabbed my hand, pulling me down yet another hallway. This one was the only one with lights- Konan DEMANDED lights. It was better this way I guess, but I had always been happier on the dark side. ^ ^ She opened a door, and brought me to her closet. Konan let go of my hand and bent down. I heard glass clinking together as she straighted back up to face me. Konan: Shh! Don't tell!! Haikri: Konan!! You- You- You have SAKE!?!? Konan: Yes! - now shh! She carried the two bottles together in one hand, and grabbed mine again. Konan: Let's go for a walk, shall we?? Nothing like fresh air and sake to open your mind a bit. I blushed as she took my hand in hers. She paid no attention to my reaction, and pulled me along the hallway again once she had closed her door. Luckily, we were able to sneak out without anyone noticing- for now. She pulled me away for the hideout enterance, and walked a bit further with a smile on her face. Konan: Ya hear that?? Haikri: Hmm? I strained against the birds singing to hear clashes of metal and chakra. I nodded, a worried look on my face. Konan: Your man's training again...sheesh. He's ALWAYS training. I'm surprised he stopped for a few days let alone hours to be with you when you came. OWWW! She instantly let go of my hand, and stared at her palm with a grimace on her face. Konan: Something must have stung me...jeeze- that burns! I stared at the ground- How could it have hurt her? It was MY curse..no one else should have to feel my suffering. Konan lifted a hand to my face when she saw me shaking from rage and pain. Konan: Hey Kri? You alright? You feel awfully warm... Haikri: Is- your hand alright..? Konan: Ya sure. I'm more worried about you girlie. Your scaring me a bit. Haikri: Did Pein ever tell you about me? My background? Konan: Of course- not...? Haikri: Do you want to know why I couldn't stay in my village? We were far enough from the hideout that I couldn't see it. Konan: Kri, you don't have to tell me. Haikri: I want you to know...you're the only one who will know about this other than Leader.. Konan's hand drifted to her side as she sat our sake bottles down on the ground. Still in my tanktop, I let my normal shift drop, and lifted my head up to see Konan's reaction. Konan: Oh..My...GOD. She reached forward and hugged me tightly. My hands stayed at my sides- I didn't want to burn her again. She backed off, and stared at me, up and down. I looked at my left arm, used to the sight of it looking as if it had been majorly burned. My whole arm was like this now, along with my shoulder. My neck showed almost no uncursed skin, and the burns spiriled up and joined at my eye, which was black- with a thin red ring in the center. I tried not to wince at the burning inside of me. Konan: And you haven't told Itachi- Haikri: No. I didn't want him to worry.. Konan: Do you have any idea what this will do to your baby?!? I paniced- I had forgotten about the little one growing inside me. Why did I have to be so..Selfish!? I stayed quiet, afraid to answer my own fears. Konan: Have you tried to get rid of it? Haikri: Yes..so many times. Tsunade would have to lift the curse. That was my conclusion. That I would die suffering while she lived eternaly, laughing as I became the helpless little girl I have always been... Konan: Kri.. Her voice was pleading at me. She was afraid for me- for the child. Haikri: I burned you. Look at your hand. Konan lifted her hand to stare at an abnormally pale spot on her palm, about the size of a dime. Haikri: I'm so sorry Konan.. Konan: No- it's alright. It doesn't hurt. Your shift must be failing- the baby is stealing your chakra. Kri, if you don't get a hold on this, you might not be able to touch anyone ever again. A moment of silence passed, and the breeze blew my hair back behind my ears. Konan got a worried-about-you-so-I'm-gonna-tell-your-secret look. Konan: We need to tell this to Itachi. You don't want to burn him do you?? My mind went through all my times of burning torture- and then added Itachi into it all. I was scared. Konan saw the look on my face. And handed me my sake bottle. Konan: Sit. I'll be right back. As soon as she was out-of-sight, I popped the lid off of the bottle and chugged as fast as I could. A week without sake was horrible- but to taste it again satisfied me- even if it was in secret. It wasn't a fairly large bottle, so I finished it off and hid it before Konan returned. Itachi was beside her a deathly worried look on his face. He sat down beside me, and put a hand to my unchanged flesh. He turned my head, and his eyes looked as if thy were going to pop out of his head- or that he was going to faint. He went pale. Itachi: Love? W-what... He leaned forward and pulled me into his arms. He kissed my left eyelid as I felt warm tears drip onto my face. He shook as he kept me there. I wrapped my good arm around his neck. I kissed him- trying to convince him to keep me- not to push me away like Rei had done. I cried, and our tears meshed together. He kissed hardly back, promising that he would keep me for all time and further. Itachi: I will save you.. He whispered on my lips angerly. I could feel it as he said the word 'will'. He pressed a thumb to wipe my tears away from my eye that still would produce tears. He trembled as he spoke. Itachi: I will save you. I love you to much to let you slip through my fingers. The statement was more urgent this time, and I knew he meant it. Even if it meant Death.
(PART 4) NEW LIFE uploaded
Itachi stood slowly, and offered a hand to me. I reached out for him with my good arm, but he seized the other as well, wincining as little as possible to asure me he wasn't in undeniable pain. I regained my normal Haikri shift- the feeling of being seen as a cursed being made me feel out of place. Plus it felt like I had WAY too much power and chakra to deal out. I thickened a barrier between our hands, trying to detect if he had been scarred or was in pain. He smiled at me. Itachi: Haikri..you don't need to heal me. Haikri: But- Itachi: A scar is nothing but a scar love. It causes no pain- and for me- no regrets. He showed me his hand. Dark reds showed on his pale, perfect palm. The tips of his fingers were burnt this way as well. Itachi: Just a scar. Haikri: Itachi-san!! I'm so sorry! I- He put a finger to my lips. Itachi: Training can wait. Home is where we need to be for now. Finding out if we can stop this..before it affects... He trailed off into thought. Konan: Zetsu would be the one to ask you know. With all his plants and stuff.. Haikri: Itachi... I don't want to go back.. I don't want them to know. As he turned his head, frantic eyes stared into me. Some of his hair fell from his loosely bound pony-tail. Itachi: Why? Haikri: ... I looked down as painful memories came back. I didn't want to be a monster. Or I didn't want them..Skye to see me as I was now. He lifted my chin and looked deeply into the icy eyes that had alway held his gaze. Itachi: Whould you rather me ask him alone? Haikri: I wish that. He left go of my hand, but I quickly reached back to him and hugged his arm as his hand dropped from my chin. Tears rolled down from each eye as he tried to pull away. Haikri: I miss you. He stoped, a astonished look on his face. Itachi: I'll be back. Let me go Haikri-kun... I let him go slowly, and stood there, watching him leave me. Konan: You really love him..don't you? I nodded quietly. I thought a moment in the silence. Haikri: *sigh* Teleportation jutsu.. I whispered the words, but Konan heard, and reached quickly for my arm. She stummbled forward, cursing. She landed on the ground, looking for me. I was gone. I teleported to the far edge of a medow, and stepped out as Karin once again. The edge of my house was a few yards away, and I walked forward stealthly. I put my ear to the back door, and heard voices. I paniced, hearing familiar voices. Haikri: *LAURENA!* I felt a larger press on my mind as a reply, and words tundered loudly in my head. Laurena: *Milady?? Are you Alright? Where are you??! Are you hurt!?* I sent a mental picture of me behind the house, and called her again. I soon heard hooves in the woods near the river's side, and dust flew as Laurena hurried to a stop, rubbing against me lovingly. Haikri: I need you...to carry me back to the front of the village- through the woods. Don't be afraid..I'm masking my condition. I will reveal it a bit, along with other injuries. Please Laurena.. Laurena: *As you wish Milady.* She kneeled on her front legs, and I hopped a bit to get my leg over her back. She stood back up, As I started to loose my balance. Her head caught my leg as I held onto her sides. Haikri: *It's fine. Please- let's go..* Laurena stalked away from the house, and once far enough away sprinted for the destination. It didn't take long, and I changed our appearances. Blood stained a loose shirt on my shoulders, and jeans torn into shorts, holes more than denim. My hair turned brown, and short to the ears as a burn appeared on the left side of my face along my jaw. Sores appeared, and Laurena's coat became muddy, and black. Her knees were bloody nd scraped, her tail short and mane not as full as it was. Haikri: Remeber..your tired...burdened..your hurting and hungry. Keep your head low...act as a pack horse. Don't listen to my orders, just go for the best grass in this meadow. She snorted in defiance, then dropped her shoulders, and her neck closer to the ground. I leaned on her neck, pushing her and kicking her sides. I adopted the name Ash, and aplied it to myself. Ash: Go you stupid horse! Come on! I kicked her sides, and her whinneyed, pushing forward a bit faster. I kicked her harder as I saw a person come out of the house from the noise. Ash: *REAR UP! Quick! FLIP ME!* She neighed and backed up as her feet lifted off the ground, she twisted side ways as I held desperately onto her mane. She fell on her side, trapping me under neathe her. Ash: *good..job..lauran...* I slipped willingly into a seeeing unconsious as I heard yells. Laurena quickly got up and ran over into the woods freely. She pranced, but I could see the worry in her movements. I saw ..Kakashi come to me, checking my pulse. He turned and yelled something back towards the house, putting an arm behind my neck, and under my knees. I felt my head go limp, and I could only see his shoulder under my eyelids. I could tell he was running, My sight bounced. I was getting a headache. I felt him climb the steps, and I was laid on the floor. Fces gathered around, and I saw Tsunade. She had a serious look on her face. I felt broken bones being placed back together. She missed a rib. I suddenly regained conscoiusness. I gasped for air, choking. I stummbled backwards, clenching my neck. Ash: Who are you witch!? I pointed a finger at her, shakingly. I cried out in pain after that, holding my chest in fake agony. I coughed, and blood appeared in my hand. Ash: What did you do to me??! I quickly got up and ran for the door, falling down the steps, and staggering to get back up, running for the woods. I whistled highly. I cursed. Ash: GET OUT HERE! I fell again, almost to the edge of the wood. Laurena walked to the edge of the woods, and I ran towards her, rgrabbing her mane and trying to pull myself up. I felt something pull me back down. Ash: LET NME GO!!!!!!!! Kakashi: Keep hold on her Naruto!!! I kicked him in the jaw, and soon Shikamaru joined him in pulling me halfway off the horse As I struggled to get on her back. Ash: Oi Shadow! Oi! Laurena took the signal and trotted a bit, then caught into a gallop. Naruto fell over, and shikamaru lost his grip. I quickly climbed onto her back, holding onto her neck, wincing in pain as she moved. I felt a arm wrap around my waist, and I was flung to the ground, in the arms of a man. Ash: Rapist! RAPIST! GET OFF ME! I kicked him and bit him, and he let go. I crawled, trying to get up to run. Shikamaru: SHADOW POSSESION JUTSU! I froze, A shiver running through my body. Laurena turned and kicked Shikamaru, and he lost his focus. Ash: *Laurena- you are Haikri- act like me and say what say to you!..* Haikri grabbed my neck, and pulled a kuni from a pocket on her thigh. Haikri: Go ahead. Move. You'll see plenty of innocent blood flow. Rei: *Haikri! Let the girl go. NOW.* Ash: Kill me!! Please!! Tears rolled down my face. Ash: Please- It would be a favor. PLEASE! This world doesn't need me! Tsunade spotted the burn on my jaw. Tsunade: I can heal that burn of yours. Ash: That is but a a scratch on the surface of pain for me witch- I would rather loose my life! Laurena's hand pulled my jaw up. Her eyes went wild. Haikri: Tsunade-- What have you done to this girl!?!? She gritted her teeth. Tsunade: Let her go and I'll heal her. She dropped her hand, pushing me forward to the ground. She then stepped back, and turned into herself. She blinked longly as if in sorrow, and pulled away from my mind. I shivered in fear as Tsunade approached. Tsunade: What is your name? Ash: What's it to you, Witch? Just take my burn away with your magic and leave! Is it because you have to know my name for your spell to work?! Tsunade: Kakashi- Come hold her down. Ash: What!? Kakashi: Sorry, It has to be done. Kakashi wrapped lhis arms around me, holding me on the ground as Tsunade placed her hands over the wound. I screamed in agony- It wasn't any fake pain. It felt like being stabbed- over and over again, the knife being pulled out and plundged in murderously. Heat overwelmed me, and It burned my eyes and my throat. Ash: MERCY!! MAKE IT STOP!!!!!!!!!!!! ARHHHH!! I cried out in pain as I felt the mark shrink and become more intense. Tsunade: It's deep.. Her face showed how hard she was working to draw the poison. I screamed again, flailling my legs, my finger nails clawing into Kakashi's flesh. Kakashi: Tsunade! Stop! She can't take any more! The pain stopped, and I panted--my eyes flickering to Laurena and the woods. It seemed better to live with the curse than to go through that torture to be rid of it. I pleadingly tried to crawl away, with less force as before. I felt like giving up. I felt like I was dying inside. My mind was shutting down. I passed into darkness, my head rolling forward on my shoulders. They all looked to Laurena, who ran for the woods, in sorrow and mourning. I woke in the morning, the taste of vomit in my mouth. I ran outside, and was drained of all the sake I had drank the day before. I felt a pressure on my back, and I wiped the vomit from my mouth before turning to see who it was. Rei. Of course. He kissed me on the cheek, and I slapped him acrossed his almost perfect face. Ash: I'm getting out of here as soon as I'm healed. I'm not here for you Rei. Rei: I know. You just-- looked possessed...and the screams... I said nothing, trying not to think about anything too discusting. Like rolling eyeballs. I vomitted again. Rei: Sorry.... Do you want me to get- I nodded my head. Ash: I want her to finish my healing. Right now. He returned a few minutes later with just Tsunade. He wrapped his arms around me tightly, and I frowned and winced from the broken rib. She continued the process in the silence, and I fought uselessly against screaming aloud. Rei held me as I fought against the pain. It continued for the longest time..but she suddenly stopped as the pain was at it's greatest. Tsunade: It's done. She smiled, staring at me. My whole world seemed brighter- but I couldn't blink...I couldn't move. Tsunade left, and I watched her go. I pushed Rei's arms off of me, and jumped down the stairs. Ash: Teleportation Jutsu! Haha! The Akatsuki Hide out was dark, but I opened the door as my normal self, running to my room. No one noticed my arrival- Until I opened my bedroom door. He was sitting on my bed, his hair around his eyes. He held a fading blue rose. A petal fell to the ground as he turned his head to look at me. Haikri: Tell me..Am I..normal? He dropped the rose, and grabbed me up. Hugging me. Itachi: Your real form..Is...beautiful Haikri-kun. You are normal! I smiled. Haikri: You might want to let go. I need my medicine. He quickly let me get my pills and swallow them. I fought to keep them down. He took my hand, and pulled me into his arms. I threw my other arm around his neck. Itachi: How did you..? Haikri: I tricked Tsunade.. Itachi: I didn't fullfil my promise. Haikri: Itachi..I still need you. I looked down as one of his hands wrapped around my waist. Itachi: I know.....I love you Haikri. I stared at the wall and wondered about what was to come... The sun started rising, and I could feel the heat start to radiate through the ground. Itachi: How do you feel? I pushed away from him, and tried to put a confused expression on my face, but I appeared calm. Collected.. Haikri: I feel stronger. Lighter. Itachi lauged. Itachi: Lighter? I nodded. Haikri: It's..hard to explain... Wait- Itachi! Itachi: I know. I have to leave you this time. I promise I'll come back for you. He kissed me happily, and let my hands go, turning to go. Haikri: I'll be waiting Itachi-kun. He winked and smiled as he turned the corner. Haikri: Please don't die. Please- I need you. I whispered under my breath. I suddenly noticed that I was floating off the ground, about an inch. I pressed towards the ground, but I couldn't place my feet both on the ground. I wondered if this was the extra strength the poison had stolen from me. I branched out my senses, seeing who was here. Deiadara was in the kitchen, planning meals. Konan was asleep still tossing from my intrution into her mind. Skye was leaving for a hunt-- She was full of energy this morning. Everyone was just waking up or still asleep. I desided that a hunt with Skye would be fun, and walked on what seemed like floating glass out of my room, closing the door. Haikri: *Skye.* There was a sudden crash down the hall, and some curses followed. Skye: * WHAT THE HECK?!? Jeeze! Your too overbearing!* Haikri: *Sorry...* I tried to whisper, but I still felt her cringe. Haikri: *Going Hunting?* Skye: *Yeah-- You-- OW. Yeah you wanna come....Wait- Somethings different with you. Eveything's bright and clear in your memories now..* Haikri: You'd be surprised Skye-chan. Skye laughed as I followed her down the hallway to the door. She suddenly stopped and turned. See looked at me with huge eyes for approximatly 2 minutes and 15 seconds. I surprised myself at that. Skye: Where's-- The mark? Haikri: It's gone. Skye: WHATAAAATTT!?!??!?!??!?!??!?! Haikri: Shh. Not so loud. You'll wake the others.. Skye: Well at least your better now Haikri-san. You don't know how long I worry for you and Sister during the endless nights.. I want you to tell me the story later.. Haikri: Try never sleeping. It's too odd for me in Human form.. I just, go unscionous. I smiled, and this freaked her out. Skye: Who ARE YOU? Is my Auntie IN THERE?! I laughed, and she stared as my Icey eyes flickered a light green. Haikri: Don't worry about the green- Our eyes turn green when our bodies finally register that it's being shared by another life. Skye watched as green suddenly appeared in my eyes, almost unnoticeable unless you had a dragon's eyes. Skye: You're sooo weird... Haikri: I know. But you're weirder... I mummbled under my breath. I was surprised when she didn't hear me. I followed her outdoors, and watched as she shapeshifted to her original form. -I stared in awe as I realized how bright her scales glistened, and sharp her spikes looked now. My eyes were no loner clouded by darkness. Shard flapped her massive wings, and a few trees bent to the gale. I smiled in amazement. She had grown even more since I had seen her as her dragonself. Haikri: May I? Shard: *Of course. But be careful-- I'm a bit sharp. You know, spikes and scales and stuff.* She seemed to smile, massive ivory teeth glistening with the streams of sunlight that filtraited through the dense treetops. I jumped nimbly up, holding onto a spike and swinging myself into a hollow place between to spikes. She crouched, and I felt the muscles beneath me pull together and join energies. She leapt into the air, thin membrane wings not straining as the used to to lift the weight. I held loosely onto the spike infront of me, focusing more on how she moved her wings in a repeated and monotonous motion. She drove upwards, and I could hear her long breathes deepen for more effect from her wings. Shard was magnificent- I never noticed the power she had even without the very useful claws and teeth she had from the beginning. My mind wandered to the affects of colder air or warmer air. She flew for what seemed to be a few hours as I kept my thoughts on the world around me. Shard: *You sure have alot to meditate on Haikri...* Her wings lost the faster rythum and comtinued at a slower rate- as she was plenty far from the tree tops now. Haikri: *Yes- Seeing things with new eyes and retraining a body with even more power can be tricky my friend. All will be normal in due time.* I chose my words carefully, but I didn't know what I was trying to hide from her. I kept my mind gaurded. Haikri: *Itachi-san left for his mission today.* Shard: *Leave him to his work Haikri-sama. Don't linger in his mind and distract him.* Haikri: *It is hard to withdraw from everthing's mind when you have been trained to know every next move and word of a living thing.* Shard huffed, a light smoke blowing from her nostrils. Haikri: * I realize that bothers you. Do not blame me for Tsunade's teachings. Yet, yes, I did choose to learn it-- Don't Start that! You know I didn't do it to impress.* Thoughts sped through Shard's mind about her 'sister'. Words of hatred emerged. Shard: * Then why couldn't you have saved her? Why were you not there Haikri? Do you place yourself at a higher level of intellect as if I was a child?* I wanted to frown at her words, but it seemed unnecessary. Haikri: * That is not of your concern to understand Shard...* Shard stoped and hoovered in the air. She snapped her jaw back at me, and I could see the hatred she had for me in her eyes. Shard: *THEN WHEN WILL IT BE?! WHEN YOUR OLD AND DYING AND YOU HAVE ONLY ONE BREATH LEFT IN YOUR LUNGS? OR HOW ABOUT WHEN YOU FINALLY REALIZE THAT YOUR NOTHING IN THIS WORLD?!* Her words stung my mind as she dug her claws into my mental barrier. Haikri: When you find the strength to ask where your sister is. When you find her Shard. I jumped from her back, and wings tore from my back. I glided forward, running on he air and flapping again in the memorized rythum of Shard's wings. I felt the air stir as she rose her head to dive towards me. She went under me and hoovered in front of me, snapping in my face. Shard: *Do not present me with such a riddle! My sister is dead!* I closed my eyes and flew around her, ignoring her protests as she screamed in my mind. I had enough. I pictured Tayuya's flute at the highest pitch, and played it in her mind. She swung her tail and head around viciously, her jaw snapping as she fought within herself to regain control. I flew on as the sound continued to criple her movements. Once far enough away, I dropped to the ground, the wings pulling back into my body. It was an odd feeling, but wings were usefull none the less. I let the sound cease, and closed my mind so she could not find me. A deer jumped as I landed near it, frightening it off into the woods. I chased it for a while, and then grew tired of that sport. I felt another presence around me, and I started moving off quickly. A pursuit followed, and I could tell the owner of the footsteps were not of human nature. A wolf. Haikri: Damian? Speak? I heard a high whine, and the footfalls increased speed. I stood still, and then ran to my left, seeing a large white mass run past me. I turned and ran beside it, and the wolf stopped, turning around me and licking my face wildly. I laughed. haikri: My brother! Haha! He backed up, and shapeshifted, reappearing as himself, in his regular bleached black jeans. He looked good. He took deep breathes, and smiled as he noticed my assesment. Damian: My sister. I've missed you so. He hugged me tightly, and I embraced him gladly. He picked me up gingerly and spun me into the air, a laugh on his lips. Damian: How are you? Haikri: I am well.... Damian: I know you worry for me. I have left the village. Rei will not accept me back now. I have come for you. He pushed a strand of hair behind my ear. Damian: Your hair is so long now... It must be hard to move so shaggily. Haikri: I will let you cut it. I promise you. Yet you have longer hair of your own as well. Damian: Come now, sister, it is only to my collar. His black hair was turning more silvery at the ends, giving it a very effective touch. Haikri: It will be very awkward when your head is completely silver. I will feel young. He laughed, his voice like wind on the grass. Damian: Yet you may be older, you act so childish. It captures my attention...Why are you alone? Haikri: Itachi has left on a mission... I tried hunting with Shard, but past events came to anger her. He nodded. Damian: I understand.. Well, I am here now. We must return to the hide out. Come. He grabbed my hand and pulled me in the right direction. Haikri: Wait- Damian-- Was my student found? Is Oruki alive? Damian: ..No sister. He was not found. Only...Lakkarn was. A hand lifted to my mouth. Haikri: Oh no...Lakkarn.. A tear rolled down my cheek. Damian: I am sorry. I did not find him quickly enough...He was- beyond healing. He pulled me into his chest, and I sobbed, truely sorrowful and greiving for his innocent life. Damian: He wanted to see you...before he passed on. I pushed away from his chest, and he put an arm around my shoulders. As we walked, he told me of the changes since I had been forcabliy removed. After a few minutes, he noticed I was walking slower. I dragged my feet. Damian: You should have not used aso much chakra sister. It drains you. I smiled, trying to assure him I was fine. Haikri: No Damian. I can walk. Damian refused to listen and transformed back into his wolf form, nudging me to get onto his back. Damian: *You are tired. Get up onto my back.* I pulled myself up, and he nudged the back of my leg to give me a bit of a boost. Haikri: You have grown. He seemed to laugh. Damian: Hold tightly. I leaned down, digging my fingers into his pure white hair. He crouched back, and jumped forward, his ears straight up. I moved with his movements, and leaned as he leaned. I rode for a good twenty minutes until the terrain had gotten thicker and harder to get through. Damian: *Be ready for a jump.* A nodded, and braced myself. His feet suddenly stoped, pushing swiftly upwards. No movement followed, then a sharp jolt as he touched down. Haikri: Urg... Damian: *Are you alright?* I closed my eyes. Haikri: *Take it a bit slower...please.* He slowed down to more of a walk, and tried to avoid jumping. My stomach wasn't quite agreeing with our high speed travel. Damian: *We are not far from the Hideout... It won't be long.* I nodded, sighing. I pushed the nausea back, and took a few deep breaths to make sure I wasn't going to throw-up. He stopped, looking around him. He saw nothing of danger, and stalked into the small meadow where the Akatsuki building stood, concealed by an invisiblity forcefield. As He walked towards the building, we both vanished from sight. I slid from Damian's back, and he turned back into his human self, standing up. I opened the door with the key I had. The Hide out was empty, except for Konan and Kisame, who still lingered. Pein must have not let Konan go on this mission. Something seemed off. I couldn't sense Deidara...He was basicly the most prominate chakra wise with his slightly casual attitude. I put a hand on my brother's shoulder. Haikri: I'm going to bed...I'm too tired to do anything else. Damian: Sleep well. I walked down the hall, looking back to see Damian jump onto the couch. A bed sounded really good at the moment, and I felt like I couldn't keep my eyes open. I opened my door, and closed it behind me, crawling into bed. I fell asleep before I could get beneathe the blankets. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I woke the next morning, staring at the ceiling, feeling sickness over take me. I reached for my pills on my night stand, accidentilty knocking them to the floor. Haikri: Shoot... I sat up and found the bottle under my bed. I popped two pills in my mouth, and swallowed, gathering clothes for a shower. Once I had everything I needed, I opened my door and walked down the hall to the bathroom. It was on Konan's side of the hall, so it was a longer walk from being on the men's side of the building. I pushed the door open. Konan: Morning girlie. Did you sleep well? Haikri: Auh-Huh...morning.. Konan stood there, a towel wrapped around her figure. She brushed her hair out gently with her hairbrush. She smiled as I walked past her. The showers had glass doors- which disfigured your shape from the outside, giving you just enough privacy. I got undressed, and wrapped my towel around me, turning the dial on the shower wall towards warm. I waited for the water to warm up, and took the ribbon which held my hair in a loose pony-tail. My long hair spilled down my back, almost to my knees. I tested the water, then stepped in, throwing the towel over the top of the railing so I could reach it later. Konan: They should be back today you know. She said over the water. Haikri: That's good..It's been a bit lonely without Itachi here with me. Konan: I'm sorry he had to leave. It was a really important mission for him. Haikri: For him? I thought this mission was given by Pein.. Konan: Yeah, sure, like Itachi's gonna listen. You don't even know how many times he's gone against orders. Everyone else it following directions, but no-- don't anger the Uchiha... Haikri: You don't think.. Konan: It probably is. Yeah--Itachi's gone to kill his brother, and take his eyes for his own.
(PART 5) NEW LIFE uploaded
Thoughts ran aimlessly in my mind- I was still groggy from sleep. I-I need to ...to.....NO! Don't! Sasuke! No! no-n-no..this..isn't happening!! Konan: Haikri? Are you ok? Her words drifted incoherently to me, and I stood in the shower, holding a hand to my mouth to keep me from brusting into tears and screaming. I hurried to get out, and wrapped my towel around me, turning the water off. Konan sat by my shower door, still in her towel. A lone tear shimmered as it fell down my face. Konan: Oh- girlie...It'll be alright...He'll be back today.. Shhh...It'll be ok... She hugged me, rocking me back and forth.
I sat on the couch, staring in the dark while my brother sat beside me, keeping me in his arms. Damian: Sister...I love you... I choked, reminded of how many times Itachi had said those three words. Haikri: I-I have to find him Damian...I have to.... Skye walked in through the door, and Damian turned his head to see who had entered. I leaned my head on his chest, silently sobbing. Skye: What the Heck's wrong with her? Damian: Itachi. She shrugged, and walked past. I felt the angry glare of her eyes burn holes in my back. I watched as she walked tiredly down the hall. Hunting had been unsuccessful? I tryed to calm the fear and worry inside of me. Skye: Hey Damian-- They're on their way! Just wanted to let you know! Damian: Sure. Thank-you, Skye-san.
