Shakespearian Death
By Dominick Cortes
To be or not to be
Wasn't that a foolish question?
Oh what honor should it be
To have a starring role
Just to die a Shakespearian Death.
And oh how I weep even before the curtains open
Sitting on the edge for subtile high acts
Just wailing after each poorly written speech is performed
And oh! How the tears fly as each fade away, but all do
For in a Shakespearian play, Death is the only drama
The actors array with hysterical laughter
Under oath of costumes and make up
To dance under the broken stage light
Just to play misfortune's fool
What's a spotlight if you die as a fool?
Who gave this mortal the right to toy with tragedies?
To summon grave scenes and invoke sadness
Who led his knife to end couples and lovers all at once
And yet, granted the greatest name
And I too, Do I stab at thee!
Shall I defy your name as I do the stars
As my words are laced with deadly poison
So continue to loathe in immortality
But I'm no fool to die in a Shakespearian Death.
