Me, my friends, and my life
Ch.4 Past, Present, Future?
When Chris awoke, He realized that he would have to get to know Jack better. He couldn't take him off his mind! "that's it. i'm ending these thoughts today. time to pay Jack a visit." Chris got out of his bed, took a shower, got dressed, ate and walked out the door.

Jack had been up at around 9:00 a.m. and was already outside, exploring a nearby creek. It was beautiful. There were so many trees, and vines! The creek stream was even a crystal clear! not a murky green seen in lakes. As he walked, He tripped over a low tree root and landed right into a vine. Luckily, there were only a few small needles, and one big needle puncturing him, but all the same, it felt insanely painful. Jack let out a loud scream as he landed, His arms and Parts of his hands being impaled slightly by thorns, and his chest being poked by another thorn that hadn't punchtured his skin.

Chris walked around the house, looking for a sign of life. "vacant. he must've been up recently." He began to walk towards Rebecca's house since it was closest to find out if she knew where Jack was, until he heard the scream. Chris looked up, towards the direction of the scream. "jack..." was his immediate guess. He began running towards where he heard the scream. He soon noticed it was in the creek he used to enter a few years back.

Jack laid there, unable to move for risk of making the punctures worse.Hiis arms hurt badly from the dirty thorns, and he didn't know what to do. He began to panic, slowly rising up, only to lower down from the horrid pain. He began thinking about his past... about everything he'd gone through. His first crush, to his first kiss. That memory was blank. He never had any relations. He promised himself that whoever saved him, no matter what, he would do whatever it took to be with them. But, the joke was on Jack. He wasn't one to back down on his word.

Chris walked around the corner and saw jack laying on the thorn bush.
"Oh my- wha-? How in the hell did you get yourself in that position?" Chris ran up to Jack and looked at the vines. The throns weren't deep into Jack skin, just deep enough for him to bleed. "look, everything'll be fine, honostly, it feels worse then the situation is." Chris walked to Jack's ankles. Chris noticed that Jack's feet were stuck in the root. Chris began untieng Jack's shoes. Once finished, Jack's feet were small enough to leave the gap in the root. Chris then walked over to Jack's front and squated a couple of inches in front of him. "Alright, no matter how badly this hurts, you need to do this. I'm going to push both sides of the vine down so that you can lift yourself up with less pain. it still might hurt though." Chris pushed the vines down. From his point of view, he could see the vines lower from Jack's skin. "ok, bear with me and just, lift up." Jack nodded, took a deep breath and began lifting himself up.

The pain was insane. Every part that the vines punctured felt like there was salt and an entire bottle of lemon juice on the openings. The first thorn came out, followed by the second and third. Finally, Jack was able to stand up. "thanks..." He said, blushing. He didn't know how he would live up to his word with Chris. Yet, he felt right about it, he felt like he should ask the question. "Listen... Chris..." Jack began. He had chris' full attention. "i erm... have something... to ask of you..." Jack looked flustered and was red as a tomatoe. "well, spit it out." Chris said, wanting to hear what Jack had to say. He felt... funny inside. He didn't know the source, but he knew it was there. "i said to myself, that... no matter who came... i would... 'go' with them..." Jack stuttered out. He didn't care about the opinion Chris had. He could at least say he tried.

Chris was set back entirely. His thoughts were a mess and his face was probably redder then Jack's. He finally found the source of the funny feeling. He was confused now. For as long as he knew... he had had a crush on Rebecca. Now, when this kid comes along, Chris noticed the feelings with him. He felt the same towards Rebecca, now towards Jack. He was... speechless. "i can understand if you want to run now." Jack mumbled. Jack could finally pinpoint what he felt when he first saw Chris. IT was friendship at first, but it grew quickly with each second. "Listen... Jack, i can't seriously come with an answer now... Give me, i don't know... three days to figure my answer... okay?" Chris said. He really needed the extra time. "Alright." Jack said. "Just remember, this is probably as new to me as it is to you." Jack blushed faintly.

"Well, let's get going. I Bet your mom is home looking for you by now." Chris said. He grabbed Jack's arm and directed him the shortest way back to the culdesac. "I plan on having the answer in three days. If not then, the near future. Got it?" Jack said, looking into Chris' face. He didn't like suspense. Especially if the answer was just a few blocks down the street. "don't worry. three days. That's all i need. Now head home. I'm sure we both have things to do." Chris let go of Jack's arm, and walked down the street towards his home. 'I've never been so confused in my life... what'll i choose?' Chris thought. Even as he thought, he couldn't think of anything to say without hurting Jack besides yes. 'I have three days. that's enough time for me.' Chris smiled and entered his home, not knowing how quickly the days would pass for them both.
