"What in the world was I thinking dragging my sorry carcass out to a place like this." Elias grumbled to himself as he stood on the top of a rather tall set of mountain ranges. From the disheveled and dirty look of his clothes it was obvious that he had been climbing the mountain for the better part of the morning. It would have taken most people a few days to climb the range but Elias wasn't most people. He chuckled as he though about it, heck he wasn't people at all. For a moment Elias merely stood in silence and let his emerald green gaze travel over the horizon, the area on the other side of this mountain range was blanketed in thick green forest, the kind that harbored the monsters and nightmares of men. "Now there is something that you don't....ever" he laughed, smoke issuing slowly from his mouth his ever present habit jammed lightly between his thin lips. Elias's gaze had come across something peculiar, it was a massive thunder storm, which by itself wasn't strange at all, the strange thing about it was that it was a storm centralized around a area of the forest that was only a few miles in diameter, as if the storm wasn't a naturally occurring, Elias had no way of knowing if there was magic at play there, he was still too far out of range for his senses too pick anything up. "I could always go down and scope the place out, looks like it would be an interesting place to visit." he said with a shrug of shoulders and another drag of his cigar.
For a few moments Elias stood and pondered his course of action, he could either go towards the ominous range of storms clouds and what seem to be there perpetual down pour or go in the opposite direction altogether. As he though something dawned on Elias, he had no idea what was in that storm, for all he knew it was just that weird storm and nothing else, "Heck, I'm not in the mood for soggy cigarettes" he laughed as he headed back down the mountain, his path leading away from the strange storm.
After about twenty minutes of walking he had made it half way down the other side and it hit him hard, the magic that was seeping from that place it was overwhelming almost other worldly. "What Ancient Power lies there?" he asked himself in shock, and picked up the pace of his movement, in that moment something told Elias that he needed to get as far away from that storm as he could.
