i dangle the necklace in front of my face,
staring straight at the rings,
linked in the chain,
there are five rings,
each represent a promise,
and a broken one at that,
hell,
even one of my biggest broken promises,
is around this necklace,
there seems to be a pattern,
of when people make a promise to me,
they uphold it,
with a ring,
i've begged people to stop making promises,
but they never listen,
and they always use a ring to prove to me,
that they'll keep their word,
but no one ever has,
not then,
not now,
not ever,
so,
if i ever say to you,
'don't get me a ring',
it's best for you to listen,
because in a matter of time,
you will lose me,
and break that promise.
