The practical applications allow mortals to sacrifice parts of their own body for the more adventagious anatomies of their extra-planar betters.
2: Devil's Ears. Bonded via Flesh Craft, Joseph has super-human hearing, able to hear not only physical sound, but the sound of extra planar presences, namely Demons. However Celestial bodies, and Devils also register, simply not as 'loudly'.
3: Eyes of the Archon. These eyes function much the same way as his Devil's ears, allowing him to see the 'aura' of other Extra Planar beings, be it Devil, Demon, Archon or Angel. Hiding these traits from him is particularly difficult because of this. They also apply similar super-human sight. Ranging beyond the spectrum of humans.

✭✮✯✭✮✯Biography: In his younger years, Joseph was a scholar. He studied Religion, sought the answers behind the text, and all manners of divine and infernal. Though only mildly religious, he did manage to find much to be learned within the Churches, and only within them. As such, he had to delve into their inner circles, becoming accepted into many as an 'honored guest'. Over the years, he learned much, gathering a wealth of knowledge on the means of conversing with otherworldly beings. Deeper and deeper the rabbit hole went, and down he fell. Tumbling among vast knowledge, he soon found himself in the circles of the 'Acolytes of the Skin'.
These were people he related to, few in numbers, but truly genius. They had managed to develop means to not only 'call' these outsiders to the material world they live in, but to bind them. Great and powerful creatures taken into study, Devils, Angels, and all manner of strange beings, kept in protective containment. Within the walls, many took to researching how the bodies of these beings work, and soon, the flesh craft was born. Through a mixture of science and spirituality, they devised a method, painful and mentally taxing as it may be, to gain the abilities of the very creatures they studied. The practical uses were endless, but not without their prices. The numbers in this specialized sect dwindled as many took on more than mortal bodies could handle, becoming hosts for the very creatures they sought to bend to their will. Some were possessed, some were out right destroyed, not only in body, but in spirit. It is on the road to destruction that we find Joseph, in Tokyo on 'A.o.S.' order, to discover the root of the deaths, and gather 'specimen' for research.
