Teh log of teh Kell
My journal is now for books I've read and book reviews (and maybe other reviews too). And, recently it has come to be used for updates on my upcoming charity. =)
OMG! It's been forever!
Okay, so this one book has caused me to lose my will to read. But I will finish it! And then I'll review it.
So, for now, until I get more books read, (comma, comma, comma,) I'll post reviews from some books I read a while ago. They may not be the best reviews, though...
Also, I'd like to make up for some missinformation on my part. I originally posted that Georaphy Club by Brent Hartinger didn't have sequels or prequels. It has a sequel, actually. It's called Order of the Poison Oak. I'll have to pick it up sometime...

Guitar Girl by Sarra Manning
Rating: 9.5/10
Synopsis: Molly Montgomery's band starts as a small-time thing between three friends, but soon she, Jane, and Tara have become the Hormones. When they're joined by two guys -- Dean and T -- who try to "improve" their band, the Hormones find themselves quickly sailing to the top of the charts. Sound exciting? It could be, except being in a popular teen band has its drawbacks: Everyone wants your lyrics to be ultra-grown-up (what's wrong with Hello Kitty and magic markers?), managers expect to control your every move, and the rock 'n' roll lifestyle (including sex with Dean and Jane dabbling with drugs) hits you head-on. Fortunately, Molly has a strong will and good pals, and with every move the Hormones take, she seems to keep her head on somewhat straight. In the end, it's an American tour that determines whether Molly can keep it up, and she learns that fame isn't all it's cracked up to be. (from bn.com)
Sequels/Prequels: None that I know of.
Review: When I read this book, I was so freaking into it. Like seriously. I read as much of it in as little time as I possibly could. I reread my favorite part only minutes later. Then reread them hours later. I just though it was sooo sweet the way Dean and Molly were.
I'm not sure if I'd still think that after reading Rainbow Boys, Rainbow High, and Rainbow Road which were SO FREAKING AWESOME! But anyway, it was probably a pretty good read if I was that into it. Even if it was a while ago, I don't think it would've lost much sweetness, even so. Who knows?
You should definitely read this if you're into that rising popstars and lovey loveness between teenagers.

Boy Proof by Cecil Castelucci
Rating: 8/10
Synopsis: Meet Egg. Her real name is Victoria Jurgen, but she's renamed herself after the kick-a** heroine of her favorite sci-fi movie, Terminal Earth. Like her namesake, Egg dresses all in white, colors her eyebrows, and shaves her head. She always knows the right answers, she's always in control, and she's far too busy — taking photos for the school paper, meeting with the Science Fiction and Fantasy Club, and hanging out at the "creature shop" with her dad, the special-effects makeup wizard-to be bothered with friends, much less members of the opposite sex. As far as Egg is concerned, she's boy proof, and she likes it that way. But then Egg meets a boy named Max, a boy who's smart and funny and creative and cool...and happens to like Egg. Could this be the end of the world — at least as Egg knows it? (from bn.com)
Sequels/Prequels: None that I know of.
Review: At first, I really got into this story because she was so... so like me almost, it was trippy. Dating was basically a stupid task that morons engaged in. Even friends and everything weren't worth the trouble. Then she got a taste of what love is, blah blah blah.
It wasn't really a touching love series at all. Maybe because it hit close to home or something, but her sudden need for human contact and how much it changed her just showed me that we were actually pretty opposite. I couldn't relate to her anymore. At all. It was frustrating.
Why did I give it an 8? Good question. I did it on impulse. Maybe I just forgot what I thought of the later parts of the book.

Now time for a song review! BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE IT! xD
Okay, okay, so the song is...
"When Worlds Collide" by Powerman 5000
Rating: 10/10
Lyrics:[Now this is what it's like when worlds collide
Now this is what it's like
Now this is what it's like when worlds collide
Now this is what it's like]

What is it really
That's going on here
You've got your system for total control
Now is there really anybody out there
Now watch us suffer cause we can't go
What is it really that is in your head
What little life that you had just died
I'm gonna be the one that's taking over
Now this is what it's like when worlds collide

Are you ready to go
Cause I'm ready to go
What you gonna do baby, baby
Are you going with me
Cause I'm going with you
It's the end of all time

What is it really that motivates you
The need to fly or this fear to stop
I'll go along when you realize*
When we get there I say 9 of 10 drop
Now who's the light and who is the devil
You can't decide so I'll be your guide
And one by one they will be hand chosen
Now this is what it's like when worlds collide

Are you ready to go
Cause I'm ready to go
What you gonna do baby, baby
Are you going with me
Cause I'm going with you
It's the end of all time

[You are a robot]

[Now this is what it's like when worlds collide
Now this is what it's like
Now this is what it's like when worlds collide
Now this is what it's like]

What is it really when they're falling over
Everything that you thought is denied
I'm gonna be the one that's taking over
Now this is what it's like when worlds collide

Are you ready to go
Cause I'm ready to go
What you gonna do baby, baby
Are you going with me
Cause I'm going with you
It's the end of all time

Are you ready to go
Cause I'm ready to go
What you gonna do baby, baby
Are you going with me
Cause I'm going with you
It's the end of all time

Are you ready
Cause I'm ready
It's the end of all time
Are you going
Yeah I'm going
It's the end of all time

Review: So. Freaking. AWESOME! I first heard it when I didn't really think much of metal and hard rock and then BOOM! It brought me to my senses. Metal is a great genre of music. While since I've heard a bunch of other metal, this band is either tied with MSI or beating them (very, very slightly) in my love of themness.
Mmkay, so now, about the song. Awesome vocals on Spider One/Michael Cummings (Rob Zombie's brother! x3) part. Instrumentals fit perfectly with the vocals.
The music video was BEYOND awesome. The costume designs were killer awesome, which is one of the first things that drew me to the video. (Once I watched some of their other videos I realized what incredible fashion sense they have. =D) The women's make=up is more interesting than anything you see on the street or in the clubs. The men had the coolest clothing. Ever. And who can forget Spider One's yellow hair? TO DIE FOR! I want to get this pink out of my hair so I can do that. I never realized how FREAKING AWESOME yellow hair looks. I even though about cutting it again. (I'm such a spaz. xP)
Listen. To. This. Song. Even if it kills you. You have GOT to listen to this song! GO LISTEN! NOW! And watch the video, too.
