Teh log of teh Kell
My journal is now for books I've read and book reviews (and maybe other reviews too). And, recently it has come to be used for updates on my upcoming charity. =)
GLBTQ + Starting Up a Charity
Usually, I skip a day of reviewing and come back in the next day or two and review two or more books. Today I'll review one and tomorrow I'll review more as I read. If I feel up to it, I'll review a book I read a while ago.

Luna by Julie Anne Peters
Rating:8/10
Synopsis: Regan O'Neill has always known that her brother, Liam, was, in fact, a girl. Having a transgender brother has never been a problem for Regan until now. Liam (or Luna, as she prefers to be called) is about to transition, while Regan's acceptance and love will be put to the test. Young Adult. (from bordersstores.com)
Prequels: None that I know of.
Sequels: None that I know of.
Review: I was totally into this book until Regan got into a fight with Liam/Lia Marie/Luna and started saying stuff like 'I hate you! You ruined my life!' From there on out, it seemed to me that she spent the book complaining about how terrible her brother being transgender was for her. It's like wake up and smell the freaking coffee. Life isn't usually rainbows and butterflies for people if they aren't society's idea of 'normal' and 'okay'. You think growing up with Liam/Lia Marie/Luna would've taught her something, but obviously it didn't. She was so dense and uncaring! Gawd.
Even though it pissed me off, it was so bad. After all, that's how society is and I've basically come to accept it. The writing style and the characters were much better than Far From Xanadu (I really didn't like that book...).
You should read it, though. I'm not gonna say definitely, but if you're looking for something to read, this is a good choice. I got enough out of it for the time I spent on it and I think you will, too.

Starting Up A Charity?
Howdy y'all!
Okay, so I've decided that once I finish helping my brother IRL finish his quest on Gaia, I'll start helping other people out.
What I figure I'll do is get them an item worth roughly 10k-20k in exchange for 1 or 2 pairs of G Shades (because I'm collecting. Consider it to be like a 1k store, almost. =D)
This won't be cheap, though. And I don't know about you, but I have a life outside of Gaia (sort of...) and I can't really rack up 20k a month, so I'm gonna need some help.
At the moment, I'm at 44k, which is gonna go toward helping my brother on his quest (a little bit). He'll be like my first victim/donatee, except he'll be like anywhere up to 30k unless he changes his dream avi AGAIN. If he does, I'm abandoning his quest and working on other people. I'll choose people at random, all over the place. There won't really be a board, unless I feel that it's necessary to raise funds or something otherwise important to the charity. =)
More updates later throughout my journal. I'll put it in the title, so now you won't have to look through all of my book reviews. =)
