I Have A Story To Tell...Will You Listen?
A story about an Ice Dragoness takes shape...one piece at a time.
Old wisdom resides in these bones, but I know not why you have come to my home. Curiosity you say? You couldn't find your way? You found my isolated home, where dragons are said to roam? It's true, what you say, dragons did use to come this way. But I no longer see their eyes, just as they no longer see the day. This is not my original form, you know. A magician took it, and stole from me my precious child. She was a child of the earth, her hide as green as the rich turf. Let me tell you how this came to pass, and then maybe you'll see, perhaps you'll glimpse, the true side of me.

I met him, one day, and his hide was glistening in the sun. A son of the earth was he, his hide the color of steeped tea. Now, I am not one to wander from my mountain, my hide begins to disappear if I travel too far away in the sun. But this one day, fate may have it, I ventured out and found him. He thought that I was a Crystal Dragon at first, the rarest of the rare. I laughed it off and told him "I've never seen one, nary been one. Might I find shade in the branches of your domain? The sun is strong and my home is further than I expected." And so it came to pass, acquaintances led to friends, and friends led to mates, but then HE came.

Dragons are not violent creatures, no, we love to frolick to and fro. But a few have earned us a bad reputation, and thus we were labeled beasts of a dark nation. The magician came, determined to right our imaginary wrongs, and thus he began to destroy us by the throngs. Not kill, no, he would never admit to that. Sent us away, away from the Gaians, it came to that. I went to find my mate, together we would run away to raise our child, still in my womb. But when I went to find him, he was gone. The magician was there, waiting for me. I begged him to spare my life, to bring my mate back, we meant no harm. And then I made the mistake of my life, and also the one that saved it. I told him about our child.

I could see his eyes light up, although he was much smaller than me. I could not bring myself to destroy him, to set his soul free. I knew something was wrong, when he smiled at me so, but I wanted to stay, I just could not go. He agreed to let me stay here, but did not agree to let me be. He cast spells, and I began to see. I saw what he was doing, almost before he was done. The heat came from inside, no longer the sun.

I began to shrink, I began to change. And then I swear this madman (quite deranged) set another spell, whilst I was still in mid-transform. It aged my child, and tore it from its home. To see my child, my dragonet, in this man's arms nearly sent me over the edge. But I was helpless, changing from dragon to the elf that you see now. He disappeared that day, taking my child with him. And I learned to start life, all over again. I wear black to mourn over the loss of my child, to which I only have the name that my mate and I picked out for her to remember by.

Perhaps there is still hope. Perhaps she lives on today. You have seen her!? Then please if I may, ask a favor, that if you see her wandering alone. Bring her back to her mother. Then maybe the magic in me will awaken, protect both of our souls.
There is nothing better than reunion
To see my dragonet
To hold my baby
My Gwendolyn
My Gwee
