Current mood: Sleepy & Lost
Well, the ball was last night, this morning, it's late, or early, either way, I'm so lost, and sleepy, but lost, and in love, and amazed, but, not with Hatori, with Link.
Oh, It was amazing, and depressing, and wonderful, and confusing, the whole evening was just a whirlwind of emotions. Let me start from the beginning.
I wore a gown of a deep green color, it had thin straps that criss crossed across the back. It ran down to the floor, but at the waist flowing down to the bottom of the dress, was a part in the cloth that had a silver strip connecting them. A leaf design covered it in a deep green color, the same design in silver covered the bosom of the dress. Hatori, my escort at the beginning of the evening, had on his tux, and he looked... gorgeous! (His eyes kinda stood out near me, my dress being almost the same shade as his eyes.) Anyway, he was gorgeous, and I couldn't take my eyes of him, for a while anyway.
Sometime after the dinner portion of the night, where we had pasta, oh and by the way, the man who decided pasta is a good thing to have at a formal event should be hung, the music began. I remember dancing some fast songs with my cousin and a few friends, but I most remember my friend Lee flirting with a dark shaded man in the corner, I think his name was...Raz? Not too sure. But anyway, while she was flirting, I was dancing with Hatori, and I pointed her out, but it wasn't her that Hatori saw. Standing just a bit behind them, was Kana.
Kana was wearing a pale pink gown that cupped at the shoulders and puffed just enough at the waist to enhance her figure. She was talking to another friend of mine, Amane (who looked amazing in her hand made white dress), I don't remember what went through my mind, but I do know that when I looked back at Hatori, I had lost him. His eyes were focused on her, and his face pale.
"Hatori?" I asked. At first he didn't respond and we stopped dancing, but neither of us seemed to notice. I called him again, and he looked at me.
"Yes?" That was it, he was looking at her again.
"Hatori..." I could feel the frog in my throat and the tears in my eyes. "Go to her." I told him. For a moment, he simply looked at me.
"Thank you, I'm sorry." Was all he could say. It was all I expected to hear, so, I let him go.
I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces, and walked carefully off the dance floor to the bathroom, where I ran into my best friend Beth, who wore a black and white gown with a black scarf and white gloves. She heard me out, all about Hatori and Kana as a bawled my eyes out in the bathroom.
"You need to be cheered up." she smiled. "Ah, I've got an idea, wait here." she left me there to dry up a bit and not a second after she left, Zelda entered, in a pink ball gown with a white strip lining the top bottom and waist.
"Beth, told me what happened." she said softly, putting a gentle hand on my shoulder to comfort me. "She's talking to your cousin, they seem to have an idea to make you feel better."
"How?" I whispered. "I've lost Hatori." I cried.
"Shh..." Zelda handed me her handkerchief. "Dry those tears, you knew Hatori still loved her. She's single now, and so are you. This is..."
"A night of fun!" My cousin exclaimed busting into the door. "I think you'll like this!" she dragged me out the door to the bathroom and pointed me toward the door. I looked over and my breath was gone.
Walking through the door, was a handsome figure. He had blond hair, and blue eyes. His tuxedo didn't seem to suit him, perhaps because he looked so uncomfortable. He looked around, as if hoping to spot someone he knew. He looked in my direction and his gaze fell on me and his face lit up. I froze, nervous and in shock, as he walked toward me, but Zelda's voice behind me snapped me to my senses, he wasn't looking at me of course, he was looking at Zelda.
"Zelda." he greeted her with a bow she answered with a curtsy.
"Talk to him." my cousin pressed, but I couldn't think of what to say.
Remember how I mentioned the guy who thought pasta and formal went together, well, here's his brilliance in action:
As we're standing there, a waiter comes out of no where and tripped, spilling pasta all over me, and Link who saw it coming and took most of the blow.
Tears of anger began to flood me and I raced away embarrassed. Of course, as all women do, I ended up in the bathroom. I stood there, at the sink, frantically trying to salvage my gown when Beth came in. Calmly she took the paper towel and began to clean it for me as I cried.
"It's hopeless, my dress is ruined, my life is over, Link probably thinks I'm a fool…" I cried hysterically.
By now, as you can no doubt see, I had had enough. A girl can only take so much in one night before flipping out. So, I gathered up my stuff and began to leave. Heading to the door, my friends protested that I still looked fine and should stay and enjoy the rest of the night. Regardless, I was leaving, but as I got to the door, another person joined them, he grabbed my arm, lightly, but with strength enough to stop my movement.
"Dance with me?" Link. The voice was unmistakable.
"Link, I'm sorry." I turned around to apologize when I realized, he'd taken most of the pasta trauma, his tux was a mess covered in sauce and wrinkled from the attempt to clean it off.
"Don't." he smiled. He noticed me looking at his outfit and looked down at himself with kind of a chuckle. "…change first…" he muttered and walked outside.
I could feel the heat rising in my face and my heart fluttering, so I didn't need to see the excitement on my friends faces.
"Link asked you to dance?!" they all exclaimed and cheered. And after two fast songs that I danced my heart and adrenaline into, Link reentered.
He looked much more comfortable now, he wore a green regular green tunic and boots, but I didn't mind and told him so. However, when he began to lead me in a dance, our outfits almost matching, I realized that he was still a bit fancied up. Not only was he not wearing his gauntlets, his thick strong hands resting on my hips, but his tunic was lined in gold triangles, tiny but beautiful.
"Thank you." I whispered as he lead me. He was a wonderful dancer, confident, perfect, gorgeous. He smiled at me and locked his eyes on mine. They were wonderfully blue, enchanting and mesmerizing, and for those 3 ½ minutes we danced, I felt one with something, like I finally belonged. I felt home.
The night ended, and I never got to dance with him again, nor speak with him. He was swarmed by girls as soon as our dance was over. But I'll treasure it, forever. I just hope he feels the same…

Life...
My life through my eyes is not quite the truth to the world around me.
"I believe in you, I'd give up everything just to find you."
"Dance, the best of stories begin and end with it. So move to the music, and dance like the wind."
