~~~Episode Thirty-Six~~~
Ratchet was busy yelling and cursing, repairing himself as well as Wheeljack, Bumblebee, and Blaster.
Jazz stepped in, his arm sparking, but Haku didn’t stay to see what happened next.
As soon as Jazz passed, he darted across the hall and headed towards the Repair Dock.
He wasn’t going to sit around and do nothing while the Autobots planned the next move. The ship had been mostly repaired, and he would go after the Decepticons himself to get Yuri back.
Originally, he had planned to have Wheeljack accompany him…but the mechanic was still being repaired, and Haku had a feeling that he would stop him.
The doors slid open, allowing him in, and he ran over to his ship. The hatch in the back opened as he neared it and Haku entered – carrying with him a small data pad.
Apparently the Decepticons had a base that was about a forty minute trip away. It was located on an asteroid, and was literally built into the rock, making it hard to infiltrate. Haku stepped into the control room of the ship and fell back into the pilot seat.
All around him, the Gummi Ship powered up, the systems making a soft grinding noise as the activated.
“Piece of cake.”
Haku said as readied to open the hanger doors with the data pad he had snagged when a voice came through the audio on his helmet.
“Haku, what are you doing?! Open the door!”
It was Wheeljack.
Haku sighed, shaking his head slightly as he allowed the Gummi Ship to fully activate.
“Sorry Wheeljack, but I’ve got to help Yuri. You guys aren’t moving fast enough for me, so I’m going to do it myself.”
Haku replied, feeling slightly odd as he was alone in the c**k pit area. There was a sigh from the other side of the comm. link.
“Haku, don’t do this. The Decepticons are dangerous, and they could very well capture you as well – or worse, kill you!”
“I’ve already decided and I’m not changing my mind.”
A pause came through, and right before Haku was about to open the hanger doors…
“I’m coming with you kid, so open up!”
Haku blinked. He shook his head,
“Wait – what?! I don’t think so; you’re tricking me or something!”
“Why would I do that kid? I’m coming with you, and we’re not taking the Gummi Ship. We’ll take one of the smaller pods. It will be faster than your ship, and it won’t be detected on the Decepticon’s sensors.”
Haku felt a very faint smile tug at him,
“Are you serious Jack?”
“Serious kid. Now, can you open the door please?”
~*~*~*~*~
RedAlert looked up at the screen, noticing the light flicker on. He narrowed his optics, his sensors already picking up that one of the hanger doors was opening – without permission.
“Prowl, something’s up in the pod area. There is a pod being activated and the hanger doors are opening.”
He said quickly, sending the transmission. Prowl’s response was just as fast.
”The pod area? Right – I’ll be there momentarily.”
~*~*~*~*~
Prowl slammed the shut off button – causing all of the pods to be locked in place. He and Ironhide ran into the room…only to see that one of the pods was already gone.
“Slag. RedAlert, Blaster – I want you both to track the pod and set up a communication link. I want to know who took it and why in less then 5 nanoseconds.”
~*~*~*~*~
Wheeljack piloted the pod quite easily. He had already put a good distance between them and the Autobot’s ship and continued on.
“Just sit tight, ‘kay Haku?”
Wheeljack said, glancing down at the teen who sat awkwardly on his leg. Haku glanced up, nodding with a firm gaze.
“Yeah, no worries there.”
A beeping sound issued from the control panel, and Wheeljack sighed.
“Knew that was comin’.”
He said before reaching out and activating the comm. link.
“You are going against strict Autobot base rules pilot of pod number 207. Turn the pod around and return immediate-“
“RedAlert, relax. I’m just going out for a quick…fly.”
Wheeljack said as Haku narrowed his eyes.
”Wheeljack?! What are you doing! You’re supposed to be in you room resting! Your dama-“
Wheeljack cut the link, wincing inwardly.
“I might regret this later.”
He said to Haku with slight sarcasm lingering in his voice. Haku shrugged,
“I didn’t force you to help me. Actually, you kind of forced me to make you come with me to help me….”
He said, his thoughts drifting.
Wheeljack nodded,
“Right. I’m sure the others will figure out what we are trying to do and assist us. But we need to try and get Yuri back before things get out of hand.”
