After my bout with the man who I now know as Xeiln Fireheart, I climbed to the top of the ruins, to meet my siblings, and the new people who have joined our motley crew. Aleks ran over to me and gave me a large hug. My heart leaped in my chest, what was this feeling? He was scared that I would not return from the fight. Someone actually maybe dare I say, Loved me.
I pulled him away and opened the portal to our new world that awaited our challenge. We stepped through the portal only to be greeted by a beautiful lake in the center of a forest, only lit by a full moon. “Rael? I think that we should rest here, the last two tribes are very hostile to outsiders. And I think we should have a plan of attack instead of charging in blindly, and hoping for the best. It will not work anymore.” Dante spoke quietly but firmly. I knew that he was serious. I sighed, “Ok we will rest for the night here, since it has been very traumatic, for two of us especially.” I looked over to Aleks he was already sitting on the ground. I couldn’t help but smile; my heart skipped a beat as he caught my gaze and smiled back at me.
Everyone scattered Aleks walked to the water’s edge with me, as I saw Rayne walking across the water and taking a seat on a rock that jutted out of the surface and she began her preparations to sing a hypnotic tune to make the time that we had here even more magical than it already was. She began to sing, as Aleks took my hand and led me into the lake. “Aleks where are you taking me? We are getting wet.” Aleks laughed, and pulled me closer, he pulled my shirt over my head. I was stunned he was being so aggressive. He then waved his hand and a blade of water chopped off my hair at my shoulders. “Aleks! What did you do that for? I have always had long hair.” He smiled and ran his fingers through my wet hair, “Maybe it was time for a change.”
How could someone love me so much but barely even know me, I mean how could feelings come on so fast? Honestly I didn’t know, but all I knew that was the man who I loved was right in front of me, but we were treading water in the middle of a lake. Rayne was singing, I could hear her from the distance. “Oily marks appear on walls. Where pleasure moments hung, before the takeover the sweeping insensitivity of this still life, Hide and Seek, dreams, they were here first.” Aleks looked at me, his blue eyes seemed to swallow me in his gaze, I pulled him close and kissed him softly on the lips.
The lilies on the pads in the lake opened up in the moonlight, the petals from the apple trees fluttered and landed on the water all around us. Then we heard a dog bark in the distance. Dante jumped up and yelled “We have company get ready for an attack!” We swam back to the shore only to be faced with a very large dog. It looked fierce, where was its master? Suddenly the Hymn of the Fayth was being sung, but not by Andalasia, nor Oceana, it sounded like a mixture between Yojimbo and the Magus Sisters. Suddenly Yojimbo and the Sisters stepped out of the shadows and walked towards our party. “Rael, child of the Advent?” My heart stopped I had forgotten that the Fayth in Spira still remembered who I was, I mean I was there when they were summoners and ended up becoming the Fayth. “We have been searching for you with our summoner. You are a very hard person to track through the worlds the only reason we knew you were here was because of the new queen of the Earth City.”
“Why are you searching for me? Where is the High Summoner who can call you through the worlds?” They looked into the trees, and suddenly I saw a light emanating from a summoner’s rod, and her face was illuminated and I knew that it was none other than Lady Yuna, and following her was Lulu and to my great surprise Tidus. I thought that I had killed him in my rage, when Yuna destroyed Sin once and for all.
Lady Yuna stepped out, and spoke only to me never breaking eye contact with me. “We have come through the portals searching for the summoners of these worlds, and every lead we have followed leads to you, Rael. Even the Fayth decided that we should meet sometime outside of your blind rage. The people of Spira have stopped believing in the Fayth, because the Darkness has swallowed the land, and they think that the last summoner has abandoned them. Demons have attacked the land, saying that they fight in the name of the Zodiac. Nothing seems to make sense but according to the Magus Sisters, there are 5 more Yevon based Fayths, including 2 of the ones that are with you now. Andalasia and Oceana please come out, and speak to us. I beg you, the advent children have been betrayed by the Zodiac Fayth. They are using the demons to destroy other worlds and people.”
Oceana and Andalasia appeared at my side. They spoke simultaneously, “We acknowledge you High Summoner Yuna, and we understand your plight. The Zodiac Fayth are lead by Ultima and Zodiark, a campaign to destroy the worlds except for the land that they exist in, in an attempt to rule all. They lead their rampage from Giruvergan that is the portal to all worlds, and the center of the Adventists.” I was stunned how did the Fayth of Old, know all of this when we didn’t even know that. There were so many things, that I didn’t understand, but by this time I had realized that I could live another 1000 years and never understand. “So what do we do, Yuna child of the Revenance?” Asked Oceana. I couldn’t help it, I had to speak. “What is a Revenant Child? And why would Ultima betray us all? I just don’t understand…” By this time tears were welling up in my eyes, did everything I believed in the past 1000 years was a lie? Aleks took my hand. This time the Magus Sisters answered my questions. “The Zodiac Fayth is dark and evil to the core, that is why they are forbidden to be summoned, have you never wondered why people outside of their world could call them, they are terribly dangerous. As demonstrated by the mutilation of the Lemurians by the Silent Brothers, as commanded by Ultima. And the only reason she wanted you to look for the stars was to open the portal to the last temple, the city of Death. Where the Saturn Star resides along with the Fallen Seraph Raziel, and the last of the Fayth of Yevon. The Seraph blade is a myth.”
I dropped to my knees and began to sob, I had killed all those people, for Ultima’s dark plan. I was filled with a broken heart, and a growing hatred of the Zodiac. I stood up and looked at Lady Yuna and her party. “I suggest that from now on that you and your group travel with us. I know that I messed up in the past but it is time to look towards our future. Our next destination is to find the other Fayth and the other children of the Advent so that we can wage war with Ultima and the Demons so that we can reclaim the worlds. Lady Yuna, Tidus, and Lulu, will you travel with us from now on?”
Lady Yuna raised her head as the sun was rising and replied simply, “Yes of course.”
