I opened my eyes and saw us plummeting through the sky. I looked around and saw islands that floated. I let out a yell but I had stopped falling and so had Zach. I looked up and a man with wings had grabbed me. He places us on a floating island. He landed and started talking to us, I missed most of the conversation because I could hear someone’s voice in my head. It was the strangest thing, I could hear the winged man, but I could also hear a faint voice. Help, please, someone…anyone. I finally looked across the skies and saw a small black creature falling out of the clouds. The Lunar Sphere reacted to my thought and started to glow, I ran towards the edge and jumped. The Sphere flashed and I felt my arms wrap around the black creature and we were swallowed by darkness.
When I opened my eyes again the black dragon was keeping itself afloat with its shiny wings. This is the first time I had actually gotten a good look at it. To the untrained eye this dragon looked like any other but I could tell this was the dragon I saw before just in its infancy. It had eyes the color of jade, the scales were darker than night. Suddenly I heard a voice in my head, her tone was sharp, but there was some compassion in there somewhere. I am the great Dragon of Nightmares, I was sent to the worlds by Luminara to help the darkdreamer kill the darkness. I knew the dragon looked familiar. “I am Arelx Darkdreamer, I command nightmares and the arcane magics, I have seen the future of us.” I know more than you think, I am Umbra my brother is also somewhere. The Lunar Sphere seems to respond well to your thoughts. But I owe you a great debt and I will help you for as long as I shall live. “That’s wonderful but we have a problem, I can’t fly and you are not large enough to carry me.” Umbra chuckled you Adventists are all the same. I was stunned, thinking about the Adventists I remember meeting Raziel and he had wings. I read your mind Arelx and the answer is yes I met Raziel so many millennia ago and gave him flight. He was killed shortly thereafter by a great minion of the true darkness. He was a Martyr so he became the Fayth of Saturn. I reached into my pocket and touched the star. So Arelx do you wish to have the gift of flight, with wings of heart you can call the wings when you need them. Hopefully it will help us somewhere down the road. With that she touched her nose to mine and I felt a rush of magic and something unlocked in my heart, and a section of my brain was adjusting as my shirt ripped as glorious wings appeared on my back. They were much like Raziel’s but without a single flaw.
I looked around and we were standing on one of the floating islands. “What the hell happened to you?!” Zach was yelling at the top of his lungs.
