~~~Episode Three~~~
Yuri awoke slowly, and the first thing that came to her was a pain in the back of her head. She groaned, her hand rubbing the sore spot.
"So, your awake?"
Yuri looked up to see Haku standing nearby, a sandwich in hand. Yuri blinked,
"Wha? Hey, what happened?!" she said as she stood quickly.
Haku swallowed the bite he had taken,
"Well, your not on my Gummi Ship. Your in a hut on a world known as the Refuge."
he took another bite as he let Yuri think.
"What!? But, what happened to my world!? And why did you bring me here!!"
Haku swallowed again, "Your a pain..." he said. He sighed, "Your world is gone Yuri. Its a cold fact, but its true, everything you loved and knew is gone. I brought you because you have a magical aura, and you would've ended up here anyway."
"How would I end up here?" Yuri asked.
"Because, anyone with a strong heart ends up surviving and ending up here, in the Refuge."
Yuri and Haku turned as a young man walked in, his brown hair spiked back. He looked to be in his early twenties, and had dark brown eyes. His clothes didn't really match; a green shirt, blue gloves, and black jeans, along with black glasses. He had a smile though, and looked at Haku with a shake of his head.
"Be nice Haku, she just got here. You should try explaining in a softer way." he said. He then turned his attention to Yuri. "Hiya, names Kimo, welcome to my humble hut."
Yuri nodded a little, "I'm Yuri..." she glanced around, "Do you really live in here? Theres no furniture or anything." she said.
Kimo laughed, "Live in this thing?! No way! This is just the fake! See, theres a blanket in the corner over there, so the high and mighty 'lord' thinks I'm just another villager."
Yuri rubbed her head, "Oh...this is making me head spin..." she said.
Kimo smiled, "Lets go downstairs, where no one can overhear us. Then, I'll explain what is going on, and what you've been tossed into."
Kimo walked over to the corner of the room, tapping on the ground. There was an odd 'thud', like the sound of wood, and he reached down. He then pulled up, revealing a hidden door in the ground. He turned, "Hurry up." he said before walking down the stairs that had been revealed. Haku followed, making sure Yuri went down before him. He then closed the door behind them.
The stairs spiraled down, and the passed several doors. "What is this place?" Yuri asked as they passed yet another wooden door. Kimo glanced back at her, "Its the home for alot of rebels. We're in hiding here, and we're trying to take down the lord of this world."
"But why?"
Haku groaned, "Cant you wait to we stop somewhere before asking questions?" he asked. Kimo laughed, "Relax Haku. Anyway, we can chat in here." Kimo said as he stopped in front of a black wood door. He opened it, "Ladies first." he said to Yuri, who entered. He followed, along with Haku. The room was lit by several torches, but the fire in them was an odd blue. Against the walls were crude chairs, and a wooden table sat on the other wall with a couple bizarre items scattered across it. "Sit down, this is going to take a bit." Kimo said as he sat on the edge of the table. Yuri sat on a chair, as did Haku.
"Alright, you know about the heartless I'm guessing, but I'm not going to tell you about those yet. Your now a rebel; a pest to the lord. The lord is Naux, a cruel and greedy being whos existence in our world came only a few years ago. The Refuge, back then, was known as the Haven. But, Naux came, and from another dimension at that, and took over our world with heartless and new creatures called nobodies. Naux himself is a nobody, or a person without a heart. So, he really didn't care about the pain the people of this world were thrown into, all he wanted was power, and to be ruler. Hes been in a quest to conquer all worlds, and tossing them into the darkness. He searches for beings with magical power, which is why Haku took you first. If Haku would've left you in your world, you would've fallen into darkness, and eventually wind up here anyway. But, Naux most likely would've found you."
Yuri was quiet for a moment, "So...this Naux guy is a bad guy, right?"
"Yep, as bad as you can get. He has no sense of humor either."
"Where is he?"
Kimo pointed up, "He lives up on the mountain in a freakin huge castle with hundreds of heartless and guards. He lives in the lap of luxory why we live down in the pits, starving and filthy."
"We're planning to raid the castle, and kill Naux. But, he has already stopped us; twice." Haku said.
Kimo nodded, "And, to top it off, Naux is now searching for a particular person from what our spies can tell."
"Who?" Yuri asked.
"We dont know his name, but we do know its a boy, and hes called 'The Keybearer'. He wields a weapon known as the keyblade, a powerful and legendary sword that has the power to open the hearts of worlds and lock them away."
"What will happen if he finds the keybearer?" Yuri asked.
"Thats what we've been trying to figure out. But, good news is that the keybearer in our dimension doesn't exist, so the one Naux is after is in another dimension."
"Wow...this is alot..." Yuri said, her brain feeling like it was going to pop.
"Dont worry, you'll get used to it." Kimo said. He stood, "Any more questions?" he asked. Yuri nodded,
"My world, what has happened to it? Why is it gone?"
Kimo paused, his smile faltering.
"Yuri...I'm sorry. The heartless have been pestering 2nd Earth for the longest time, and I guess it was bound to happen eventually. You see, they kept coming because your world was gripped in greed and war. People couldn't get along, no matter what happened to their planet, and the heartless were drawn like flies." he sighed, pulling his fingers through his hair.
"Your world is gone. I dont know if it will ever be saved, but I doubt it. Others may have survived, but thats highly unlikely seeing that no one in your world believed in things outside or their own lives."
Yuri was silent, letting the reality sink in. Kimo turned, "Haku, take her to Morgan, then head upstairs to room 21." he said. Haku nodded and Kimo left. Haku turned, "Come on Yuri." he said. Yuri looked up and followed Haku.
