~~~Episode Nine~~~
Haku tightened his grip on his katana, then he and Sasuke ran at eachother once more. Yuri closed her eyes as a sudden gust of wind howled into the alley way, and Sasuke and Haku were knocked back away from eachother. Yuri opened her eyes to see a man standing, the wind still circling him faintly, carrying leaves in its vortex. He had a headband, but it covered his left eye, and a mask covering the bottom half of his face. His spiky grey hair seemed odd, and he wore what seemed to be a uniform of same kind. He turned, looking at Haku as he stood, then glancing at Sasuke.
"Would you mind telling me what you two are doing?" Kakashi asked, his voice calm.
"These two are fakes Kakashi. They aren't leaf shinobi, and they've invaded the village." Sasuke said, dusting himself off.
Haku glared, "We're aren't a threat you stupid emo!" he snapped, picking up his katana.
"Thats enough, both of you. Sasuke, how do you know they're a threat?" Kakashi asked.
"Naruto was talking about them earlier. This guy attacked him."
"I thought he was hurting Yuri!" Haku shouted.
"Yuri?" Kakashi asked. He looked over, finally noticing Yuri. "Oh, hello there." she said, smiling a little. Yuri blinked, then smiled. "Hi." she said with a slight nod.
"So, you met Naruto earlier?"
"Yes, I found him training and we talked a little."
Sasuke stepped forward, "So what were the things Naruto was talking about? The black creatures that attacked him?" he asked.
Yuri rubbed her arm, "Well...those were heartless." she said. Kakashi and Sasuke blinked,
"Heartless?" they asked in unison. Haku sighed, "Dont try it Yuri. They wouldn't beleive us unless a heartless popped up right here and now." he said, sheathing his katana.
"Try me." Kakashi said, walking towards Yuri.
"Well, there these creatures, and they attack people for their hearts. They swarm in number when they appear, so they're a pain to deal with."
"Right...what do they look like?" Sasuke asked.
"Well, the neoshadows look like the shadows of people, with yellow eyes, and-"
"Yuri, seriously. Just stop, they dont believe you." Haku said, walking up beside her and turning to Kakashi and Sasuke.
Haku then turned, "Come on, its getting dark. We either need to find a hotel or go back to the forest." he said.
"Wai-" Sasuke said, but Kakashi cut him off.
"Be warned. If you try anything here, we wont hold back because your kids." Kakashi said, his tone threatening.
Yuri felt a shudder, and Haku glanced back.
"Like I said before, we are of no threat to you or your village." he said. There was an awkward silence before Haku continued to walk away. Yuri looked back at Kakashi and Sasuke before running after Haku. She came up beside him,
"You ok? That fire thing that kid did was crazy..."
"I'm fine, just a little pissed off. Should we head back to the Gummi Ship, or stay in a hotel?"
"A hotel sounds nice, but we dont have any of this world's money."
"Who said we couldn't get money?"
Yuri narrowed her eyes slightly, "Haku." she said.
"Dont worry, I wont steal...much. Just a little bit from a couple people, so little they wont even notice."
"No! Lets just go back to the forest and-" she paused as a familiar figure stepped out ahead. Haku glared, "Great..." he muttered.
Yuri smiled,
"Naruto! What are you doing here?" she asked.
Naruto grinned, "Everyone heard that fight. So, did Sasuke pound you Hiku?"
Haku twitched, "Its Haku! What do you want blondie?!"
Naruto smiled, putting crossing his arms.
"What are you guys doing? You want to hang out or something??" he asked.
"We're were just about to head back to the forest to set camp." Haku said.
"Wha? Why dont you get a hotel? Theres alout of rouges that hang around looking for travelers."
"Well...we dont have any money." Yuri said, embarrased.
"Really?! Man, that stinks." Naruto trailed off for a moment, then looked up, a smile on his face. "Wait! I've got an idea! Why not stay with me for tonight?"
"What?!" Haku and Yuri said at the same time.
Naruto beamed, "Just for tonight! You can stay at my place!"
"No way." Haku said. Yuri smiled at him, "Why not? I dont see a downside."
"Yuri! No!" Haku said. Naruto turned, "Yuri can stay if she wants and you can go sleep in the forest, it would've bother me." he said.
"Alright, bye Haku. See ya in the morning." Yuri said before walking towards Naruto.
Haku twinged, "Wait! Fine!" he said.
Yuri and Naruto turned, smiling.
"You can sleep on the couch Yuri, Haku and I will sleep on the floor." Naruto said as he opened the door to his home, letting Yuri and Haku in first. Yuri looked around, "Wow, nice place." she said. Haku turned as Naruto shut the door,
"Wont your parents be upset that you let two strangers in without asking?"
Naruto's smile faded quickly, and he glanced down.
"I...I dont have parents." he said. Yuri turned, "What do you mean?" she asked.
"Well, its a long story...but plain fact is that I'm an orphan. I live here by myself."
there was a pause in the air, and Yuri felt sympathy for Naruto. Naruto suddenly looked up, grinning.
"So we can stay up as late as we want and do games or something! I've never had a sleepover before, so this should be fun!"
Yuri blinked, taken back by Naruto's sudden cheeriness. She couldn't help but smile,
"Sounds like fun! Since this is your first sleepover, we should make it last!"
Haku groaned, turning away from them.
"How old are you Yuri?" he asked.
Yuri padded him on the back, "Oh, you know you want to join in the games!" she said. Haku rolled his eyes, "I'd rather dance with a large body..." he muttered.
Naruto ran into the kitchen, "What do you eat at a sleepover?" he asked. Yuri laughed a little, "Whatever isn't expired." she said.
It was late into the night, the moon shined brightly upon the village rooftops. Yuri, Haku, and Naruto were fast asleep, Yuri under a blanket on the couch. Naruto and Haku were in sleeping bags, Haku laying far away from Naruto. Empty chip bags lay on the table, along with an odd board game and some empty drinks. Naruto smiled a little in his sleep, rolling in his sleeping bag.
