Mediocrity At It's Finest
These are just random snippets from my mind... enjoy.
NetStar Chronology - Chapter 3
The boy almost immediately attacked after drawing his spear. Green was able to dodge, and he drew his wakazashi while the boy was in range. The boy blocked with his spear, then bumped Green back with the blunt end of the haft. He attempted a downward chop, but Green blocked it, and pushed it aside; then dashed forward to strike. The boy was able to bring up his guard again, at the last second, and heaved Green back.

"You're fast." The boy told Green, a little surprised.

"So are you." Green answered.

"This is getting us nowhere." The boy released his right hand from the spear. "Let's take it a step further."

He held his free hand out, and a burst of crystalized Ice energy shot out. Reacting quickly, Green threw two bursts of Forest energy. That was just enough the destroy the boy's attack.

"Interesting." The boy said. "For a Generic, you're pretty strong in your energy."

The boy shot another crystal, but Green dodged it, and threw some of his own energy. The boy was hit, but didn't seem to be affected too much.

But, he could stand to learn some better techniques. The boy thought. It's almost as if he was created yesterday.

"How's this?" The boy said, while raising his spear.

He chopped the ground with the spear, and a wave of Ice energy flowed out from the impact, along the ground. Green noticed this, and jumped up. While he was in the air, he focused his energy a little more than usual. Once he landed, the boy had already shot another crystal. Without thinking, Green struck the crystal with the charged hand, while releasing the energy at the same time. Instead of the crystal being destroyed, it rocketted back to the boy twice as fast. On impact, it exploded in Forest energy, rather than Ice; and the boy was sat down by the attack.

"What did I just do?" Green stared, in shock.

"That..." The boy sprang to his feet. "That was a Counter. Congratulations, you just learned one of the most annoying and dangerous techniques known to Cyberhumans. But now, I shall enlighten you on another dangerous defensive technique."

The boy rushed at Green, about to shoot another crystal. Green shot a burst of Forest at him, and he got hit. But immediately after, the boy's eyes glew for an instant.

"Retaliation!" He called out.

The boy hit Green with a flurry of palm attacks at blinding speed, then sent him sliding across the ground on his back with a powerful hook.

"Ugh..." Green layed there. "Was he holding back?"

"You almost had me." The boy told Green. "So, am I skilled enough to join you?"

"I should think so." Green sat up. "You deserve to be the leader, for how powerful you are!"

"Tempting, but no. I'm better at following orders, than I am at making them. Plus anyway, a leader determined by strength alone is no better than a dictator."

Green stood up.

"But are you sure you're okay with being led by a weakling?" He asked the boy.

"Oh, cut it out. I only defeated you because you're still a Generic. I'm in."

"Glad that's settled." Yellow rejoined. "I'd like to welcome you to our band of potential heroes."

"Right." Green stared at her, then looked at the boy again. "So, what's your name?"

"Yamato Blue." He said.

"I am Miyamoto Green, and this is my sister Charlotte Yellow." Green motioned to himself and Yellow, respectively.

"Well, now we've got a damn color scheme." Blue rolled his eyes. "But hey, the Captains of The Empire are the same way."

"Might I ask what you have against The Empire?" Yellow asked.

"You might ask." Blue looked at her. "But that doesn't mean I'll answer."

Yellow blinked.

"Well!" She huffed, then smiled. "That's fine. You can tell us when you feel like it."

"I'm beat." Green sighed. "Let's return home."

"All right, then." Yellow nodded.

They went to their house, and Green went into his room. Yellow showed Blue where he would be staying. Blue decided that he needed some training, so he left Yellow in the house. He would return sometime in the afternoon.

"There." He said as he opened the door. "Now that was a workout."

"Welcome back, Yamato." Yellow greeted from the couch.

"Oh, hi." He sat down, wearily. "Is Miyamoto still asleep?"

"Yeah."

"I didn't go that hard on him." Blue frowned, disappointed.

"Well, the two of us were just created yesterday." She put her hands on her hips. "Give us some time."

Blue just stared at her.

"What?" Yellow asked.

"Nothing." Blue let out a long sigh. "I just experienced a case of irony. But, I guess this means you two don't know very much about Iota."

"No, we don't." She sighed.

"One thing you'll learn is that a lot of people can't be trusted." He said coldly. "Most of them would stab somebody in the back to get ahead. When you take a walk around the Square, usually a majority of the people there are Skulls or Empire in disguise."

"So, how come you trust us?"

"I don't." His voice still retained the coldness. "I just feel your brother and I share a common interest, so I'm helping him. I don't know if you two are Skulls, or what."

"No, we aren't." Yellow frowned. "We're just two Generics looking for support in our cause."

"So, why are you two against them? The Empire, that is."

"Miyamoto said that a Ghost had made an attempt on his life."

"I wouldn't put it past a Ghost to try to kill an innocent."

"He said it was because he declined their offer to join."

"Even better. The Empire is just a bunch of extremists, and their leader is no better. Daisaku is persistant. He grips to his beliefs, which is a good quality, but he's still a no good extremist b*****d."

"You seem to have first hand experience." Yellow was slightly suspicious.

"Hm. Make whatever allogations you want. I'm still not telling you a thing."

"For someone who says he's reliable, you sure are inhospitable." Yellow frowned.

"That might be true. But as an operative in any cause, I have no room to connect myself with anyone. Just get the job done and ask no questions. Things are a lot less complicated, that way." Blue looked away, and thought a moment. And less painful.

"I suppose that's one way of looking at it." She became more quiet. "I'm a little disappointed that you're not willing to connect with Miyamoto or me, but I guess it can't be changed."

Blue just sat, silently. Yellow stood up, and walked half way to the kitchen, then stopped.

"You hungry? I was just about to make lunch."

"Sure."

Green walked into the room, and yawned.

"Well, look who's up, finally." Yellow smirked.

"Hey, I don't see you fighting someone who has about ten times your power." Green retorted.

"Don't go anywhere." She ordered. "I'm making lunch."

"All right." He nodded.

Yellow headed back to the kitchen.

"You're going to like it here, Yamato." Green smiled.

"These living conditions are better than the ones I'm used to." He paused. "So, Miyamoto. You think you're up for another training session? Going solo is too boring."

"That depends on how long Charlotte takes making lunch."

"Hey, Charlotte!" Blue called to the kitchen. "How long are you going to take?"

"Oh, about five minutes..." Then she raised her voice. "After you learn some manners!"

"That's enough time." Blue said to Green.

So, Green and Blue headed outside to train. Blue defeated Green once again, but it was a little closer, that time. They returned inside for lunch, and they discussed what they might do next. The following week was uneventful. Blue trained with Green, and always won. Blue talked more with Yellow, though he was still as evasive as usual. She trained with him twice, and won each time. Blue insisted it was merely because of her Elemental advantage. His attitude hadn't changed, but no matter how hard he tried to stay distant, he couldn't avoid the connection he was slowly starting to make with the two young siblings; Green, a respected leader, and Yellow, a friend to talk to. And there was no more hiding from his past...
