Mediocrity At It's Finest
These are just random snippets from my mind... enjoy.
NetStar Chronology - Chapter 2 (Please read Prologue first)
The house was considerably large, and had a flat roof. All of the houses on Iota had flat rooves. The front door led straight into the living room, complete with a couch and a large monitor. As Yellow had said, the monitor was a videophone. The living room led to two other rooms directly. The dining room, which ultimately led to the kitchen, and then a room with a large table. They didn't know what to do with that room, so they would think about that later. A set of stairs led up to a hallway on the second floor, and on each side of the hallway were two doors; each leading to a bedroom. Green and Yellow had their own snacks, then went to sleep.

Yellow would sleep through the night, but Green woke up at about one in the morning. He silently left the house to take a walk around nearby. He looked up at the moon, and was dazzled at how it shined. Since he was just staying around the house, he only had his shorts and shirt on.

Wow. He thought, awestruck. I don't think I have ever seen anything so beautiful.

Suddenly, something else in the sky caught his attention. It appeared extremely small at first, but then seemed to have been closing in. The object was moving at an incredible speed, and Green dodged it at the last second. The object dug into the ground as it slid, and gradually slowed to a stop a few yards later. It got up, and appeared to be a mech of some sort. It was floating, and was made up of many metallic orbs of different sizes. The orbs weren't physically connected, but some other force was binding them. The "head" orb was the size of a human head, and had an oval ruby in the center. Connected on the head, each to the left and right of the "eye" was a slightly smaller orb. These acted as shoulders. Below each shoulder orb was an even smaller orb, which were elbows. The hands were like katars, but also resembled shields. Behind the head, in a square formation, were four orbs the same size as the head, without the ruby. Then, diagonally from each orb; respective to the location of the connecting orb, was a larger orb. These acted as wings, but didn't move. If looking at the mech from the front, it would look sort of like an "X" with hanging arms. The orbs were like silver, but had slight transparency, and they seemed to have many cuts and scratches in them.

"Life... detected." The mech said, static interrupting its speech in places. "Suitable for... -yosis."

"What is it?" Green said under his breath, as he stared.

"I... am Dual Claw 1134... Seventh Force." It answered. "Home... destroyed. Spee-... badly... damaged."

"Is there anything I can do to help with your repair, Seven Force?"

"Symbiosis... is the... -nly solution."

"Symbiosis? What is..."

Before Green could answer, Seven Force slammed itself into him head first. There was a flash, and he gained shoulder plates, elbow plates, katars, and the wings of the mech.

"What did you do to me?" Green asked, looking himself over.

Symbiosis. Seven Force said to Green's mind. I can recover my energy much quicker if I am being supported by another vessel. In turn, I will lend you my aresenal of powers.

"I can hear you in my head. But, I thought your speech program was damaged."

It is. But as symbiotes we can communicate our own thoughts to each other.

"So, you mean that any thought I have, you can hear?"

Yes. But, I am a mech. And I do not concern myself with secrets. My purpose is only the will of my supporter.

"Okay. But, how do I get rid of all this armor when I'm not fighting?"

I will know when you wish. I will compress myself so that I am out of visibility, but still connected with you.

"All right, then."

Do you wish to test out my powers, right now?

"No. I'm about ready to go back to sleep."
Very well.

All physical signs of Seven Force disappeared. Soon after, the lights in the house turned on. Green watched as Yellow stepped outside, in her body suit.

"Miyamoto?" She saw him. "What are you doing out so late?"

"I was just taking a stroll around the house."

"Are you okay? I heard a crash, and then I saw a bright light."

"Oh, I'm fine. A mech crashed here, and I'm letting it repair via symbiosis."

Yellow looked at him for a long time, with an odd look on her face.

"All right, so long as you're okay." She finally said. "Why can't you sleep?"

"Well, I just keep on thinking about The Empire." Green sighed.

"You shouldn't worry so much." Yellow smiled. "We're going to discuss that tomorrow, remember?"

"I know, but it still bothers me."

"Hey. Just relax, and go to sleep." She patted his shoulder. "We'll talk in the morning."

She pecked him on the cheek, and walked inside the house. He blinked, then blushed a little, and returned inside.

The two of them woke up at about nine in the morning. After they washed and repaired their clothing, took their showers, ate their breakfast, and got dressed, they met in the living room. Green was the first one in there.

"Good morning, Miyamoto." Yellow greeted. "Did you sleep well?"

"Yeah, I did." He smiled. "How about you?"

"Yep. But, hopefully you don't make those night-wanderings a habit."

Green just chuckled nervously.

"Anywho, we were going to discuss our next action." Yellow continued.

"I was thinking about something in particular, what Vincent had told us."

"Oh, and what was this something?" She smirked.

"He told us that he was one of three Captains in The Empire. So as of now, we are out-numbered, even if we don't count their leader and any grunts they might be in command of."

"You're right." Yellow's smirk faded. "So you think you have a solution?"

"Yeah. We might want to get at least two more members. Preferably one who has skills in Ice or Water, and the other in Fire."

"I get it. But, how are we going to find such people?"

"Well, our best and most obvious option would be to look for them." Green smirked.

"Hardy har." Yellow wasn't amused.

"But we have to be inconspicuous about it." He became serious again. "If The Empire knows that we're looking for support, they might get suspicious."

"Right. This actually seems like a good plan, so far. Question is, how do we do it without any Empire noticing?"

"Simple. I know it seems random, but we should select someone who looks powerful. Browse the Square a little. When you or I see one, then one of us should approach them and make conversation. In the conversation, the subject of The Empire should be brought up sometime. Then, if they are against them, we can ask to test their skills. If their skills are acceptable, we will give them the option to join our group."

"Wow. That is random, but I can tell you've given some thought to it. Might you want to be leader of our potential group?"

"I don't know. I thought maybe you'd like to. I mean, you have more experience. And, you are smarter than I am."

"Very flattering." She smiled modestly. "Experienced? Maybe. Smarter? I doubt it. I really think you should. There's a sort of... air of charisma about you. Plus anyway, you made the first official plan."

"Are you completely sure you're willing to place your confidence in me as your leader?"

"Yes. But if you don't feel comfortable, then you can get one of our other members to do it. I have faith in you."

"Well... thank you." He blinked in surprise.

"I was only speaking the truth."

"Anyway, let's head to the Square."

Yellow and Green left their house, and traveled to the Square. Once there, they looked around for any potential allies. The Square was full of Generics, none of them seemed to stand out from one another. Green spotted a Knight, donning all armor, except for a helmet. His armor was made of steel, and on his back was a large Claymore. He had red hair, and brown irises.

"Excuse me, sir." Green said quietly.

"What?" The Knight looked at him. "Are you talking to me? Speak up, boy!"

"Err, yeah." He raised his voice a little. "So, how are you today?"

"I'm fine. It's not every day that someone just talks willy-nilly. If you're going to say something, out with it."

"Right. Have you heard of The Empire?"

"Yes. From what I know, there are Three Captains. Two of them have one Lieutenant, and one of them has two. They're led by a man named Daisaku, who's ranked himself Admiral. I don't understand that, why didn't he just stick with Emperor? Anyway, I heard they're trying to change Iota. Dispose of the Order of the Skulls and the Police Force, usher in a new regime, and keep all the citizens on curfew and strict martial law. So, is there anything you know about them?"

"Nothing more than what you've told me." Green shook his head. "But, who are the Order of the Skulls?"

"Bastards, every one of them. I heard they might have been pure, at some point in time, but it's just a rumor. They would stop at nothing to get what they desire. Like The Empire, they wish to change Iota; but their way is more extreme. They call it 'Divine Cleansing'. When they are ready to execute it, anyone who isn't with the Skulls is destroyed. They're plotting a genocide, and The Empire knows it. Daisaku isn't going to let the Skulls get what they want. The Skulls hate The Empire. And, that feeling is mutual."

"Where do you stand?"

"I am a Vigilante." The Knight said pridefully. "We are dedicated to helping the Police in whatever way we can, without getting in their way. Our group is led by a couple of foreigners from Epsilon, some other Network far away from Iota. Vigilantes and the Skulls have an undying hatred for each other. In fact, many fights have broken out just because a Vigilante and a Skull were in the same area. You could say we're fighting a damn war."

"You're well-informed."

"I like to think that. I've been a Vigilante for fifty years. But, you ask a lot of questions. I can't help but wonder if there's something on your mind. Plus, your lady friend hasn't spoken a word."

"Oh, I'm more of a listener than a speaker." Yellow smiled.

"Well, I had an encounter with The Empire yesterday." Green told the Knight. "Captain Vincent Orange, to be exact. Earlier that day, I was approached by a Ghost under his command. The Ghost attempted to kill me when I declined his offer to join them. I fought the Ghost, but he ran away. When Charlotte and I met Orange, he tested out our power. It didn't turn out too well."

"I'm surprised you're still alive." The Knight said, in all seriousness. "They say the Captains have ascended beyond Generic level."

"The reason I approached you today, the reason why I asked all those questions, was because I was wondering if you'd like to join a group I'm forming. We're going to stop The Empire from attaining their goals."

"Wait. Hold on a second." The Knight's gaze became sharper. "You can't just form a group. The Empire has an entire army of Ghosts hidden in their tower. Maybe even some units we've never heard of. Even groups like the Skulls and the Vigilantes have trouble with them. Join a faction. You'll get a lot further in life if you're surrounded by experienced people. If you try to play the hero, the only fate you have is being reduced to floating specs of data."

With that, the Knight walked off. Green just looked at the ground.

"Miyamoto, don't pay attention to what he said." Yellow put a hand on his shoulder.

"Well, at least we've got some more info." Green sighed. "He's right, though. It's hopeless."

"Hi there." A male voice said to them. "I couldn't help but overhear your conversation with that pompous Vigilante."

Yellow and Green looked to the voice. Standing there was a Spearsman, who looked about fifteen. Spearsmen are not restricted to gender, and are a common Class. They can be trained in any armor class that they desire, or can use their dodging skill as protection; but all are very precise with the spear. The boy had blue hair, and dark blue eyes. He wore a sleeveless black jacket, and black pants made of the same material, a blue bandana, blue cloth bracers, a light blue scarf, and black shoes. On his back was a long and thin spear.

"I've been looking for someone with a common interest." The boy continued. "Perhaps you'd like to see if my skills are suitable for the group you're starting."

As he talked with them, he never blinked.

"Well, I don't know..." Green frowned.

"You want to let them get away with what they've done to you?" The boy growled. "What happens when they take something away from you? Are you going to just stand by and allow them to disgrace you?"

"No." He shook his head.

"Then allow me to come with you." The boy lowered his voice. "You will find I am very reliable."

"Okay, then. I'll need to test your skills."

Good. The boy thought, while making a very small smile. Clair, I will be avenging you soon.

I like to see Green with the skills of Seven Force and his own combine it be enough to bring that Ghost to the floor. I want to know more about the Vigilantes, they sounded really cool and for a moment I though the knight was going to join them, I really hope we get to see more knights. And who is the new friend?
