Mediocrity At It's Finest
These are just random snippets from my mind... enjoy.
NetStar Chronology - Chapter 14
Red and Blue had awakened before Yellow, earlier than usual. They made their own breakfasts, and decided not to disturb their ally.

"So, Yamato." Red started. "What did you think of Miyamoto when you first met him?"

"Where did that come from?" Blue responded.

"Just trying to make conversation. No need to be defensive."

"I wasn't..." He paused. "Never mind. What did I think of him? I dunno, I just saw that he might have been a great help with accomplishing my goals, as well as his. But, prior to the recent events, that's been shot out the window. Why? What did you think of him?"

"I thought that he was cool for both leading a team, and having the ability to brave against his foes, despite how hurt he might get." She sighed. "Reminded me of me, except I don't have his charm and charisma."

"But, you do have your good points."

"Was that... a compliment?" Red blinked, truly surprised.

"Take it how you want." Blue frowned a little. "You've got courage and vigor, but you're stubborn and headstrong. Plus you're really loud."

"Well!" Red smirked, hiding the offense she took to that. "You're reliable, undaunted, and focused, but you have the personality of a rock! And would it kill you to smile, once in a while?"

"I've not yet been in a situation that deserves a smile." He sighed, but seemed bothered by something. "Things just keep getting worse and worse."

"Is there a way I can help?" Red's smirk faded.

"I doubt it."

Red frowned.

"But then..." Blue continued. "I doubt anyone can help me. However, it doesn't affect my performance in battle, so it's really nothing to worry about."

"I'm sure that talking about it will help." Red shrugged. "I mean, you stay so detached from the group, one would think that the rest of us were going to die."

Blue glared at her a little, then looked away.

Damn it, I've done it again! Red thought, going pale.

"Are you trying to annoy me?" Blue grumbled.

"No... I just want to make you feel better."

"It's not working. Just leave me alone, would you?"

Blue ran out of the room.

"Yamato..." Red looked down, and muttered to herself. "I didn't mean to say that."

She waited a moment, then got an idea, and ran after him.

It took her a half an hour to find him. Apparently, he had transmitted himself to another area after leaving the house. He was sitting on one of the edges of the Great Valley, and Red ran over.

"Yamato!" She called.

"Oh, what do you want?" Blue groaned. "I told you to leave me alone."

"Wait..." She frowned. "Please hear me out, this once. If it annoys you, then I'll never bother you again."

"I'm waiting." He frowned.

"I just... wanted to tell you that I'm sorry."

"You're sorry?" Blue was confused, but a little flattered. "You ran all the way out here, just to say you're sorry?"

"Yes. I apologize for everything I've done to annoy you, or make you angry in the past. All those times that I've gotten in your way and tripped you up, I'm sorry. I just really wanted to hang around with you... I think you're a cool guy." She sighed shakily. "I know one simple apology isn't enough to make up for it... so I'll just go ahead and leave you alone now."

Red started to walk off.

"Wait, Terra." Blue said to her.

"What?" She looked back.

"The last thing I need is to make you cry, just because I'm hard to get along with."

Red turned to him.

"Come on, sit down if you want."

"Oh... okay." She nodded.

Red sat down beside Blue.

"Do you... come here a lot?" Red asked.

"Yes. It's actually one of my favorite spots. There's nobody else around, it's just me and the canyon."

"This is a relaxing spot for me, too. Helps me think about things." She paused. "Or rather, obsess about things."

"You didn't seem like the type who'd actually stop and think about something."

Red frowned.

"What I mean is..." Blue corrected himself. "You seemed more impulsive, that everything you did was instinctive."

"Well, I do all my thinking here, so that when I do return to the group, I'm ready to focus on other things; even if only for a little while."

"Oh. Y'see, I'm so dead set on my goals, that I think about them all the time, so I guess that acts onto my personality."

"I didn't think you had noticed."

"I really hadn't, until people kept on telling me about how unbearable I was."

"But, you have such a great sense of duty." Red gave him a reassuring smile. "When you have your mind set on something, it happens. And that's why you're so reliable."

"I guess so."

There was a long pause.

"Say, Terra?" Blue asked.

"Yeah?"

"How are you so courageous?"

"Excuse me?" She looked at him strangely.

"How do you do it?"

"Seriously?" She blinked.

"Indulge me."

"Very well. I guess I just think about how my actions will help everyone out, then I can just rush headlong into danger. I think about what the future holds, how that will have happened because of something I did. But, don't get me wrong, I could care less if people knew my name. It's the thought of having done something for the greater good."

"But what if you fail? What if you died? Don't you worry about those things?"

"There's no room for failure, when the fate of Iota is concerned." She chuckled. "If I am to go down in the blaze of glory, so be it. If I am to be snuffed out by an ambush or an assassin, so be it. But, I'll die knowing that I tried my best. Some say it's naive. Maybe it is. But it's what I believe in, and it's in my nature to fight for what I believe in."

"So, the secret is to not care about failure?"

"Maybe. I don't know if there's something more complex to it, or not. But, that's how I look at it. But hey, why are you asking me? You seem courageous enough."

"Ha! Me, courageous? Give me a break. Death and failure is what I fear most. That's why I try to stay alive as long as possible. Do things that only relate to my path, and nothing more."

"Then, are you really sure you should be in a group?" Red frowned.

"That's the problem, though. When I thought about this, I realized something that I thought would never happen again; something I could avoid, yet was inevitable. I became attached to you three, but I didn't want to admit it. I didn't want to jinx it, because I feared losing you. No matter how hard I tried to seperate myself, stick to the matter at hand, and push forward, I connected. First to Charlotte, then to Miyamoto, and now you, Terra. I just became comfortable, and then Miyamoto gets taken away. It's happening all over again."

"Kinda makes me wonder what you were like when I wasn't bothering you..."

"I have long forgotten."

"Oh."

"I wish I wasn't so afraid, though. It's the reason why I've been holding off against James. I want to avenge Clair, but if I die in the process, it won't accomplish anything."

"Because it is for yourself."

"What?"

"Your motivation is only for yourself. You fear death and failure because you know that nobody else cared for her like you did, and that makes any other person's attempt at taking vengence for her invalid."

"Wheras your motivation is for everyone else. You can face death and ruin without fear because no matter what happens, at least you tried."

"Hey, now you get the picture." Red smiled a little.

"So, should I just stop trying to get revenge?"

"That's up to you. What would Clair want you to do?"

"She..." Blue was almost hesitant to answer. "She would want me to continue with my life, and not worry about her."

"There you go."

"But..."

"However." Red held up a hand. "As for what Black did, that was completely uncalled for. What he did was unfair, and it's up to you to find out what made him scorn you. That is justice."

"I hadn't realized how smart you are."

"That's 'cause you never bothered to sit down and talk to me." Red sighed.

"Right..." He stood up.

"Oh, I didn't mean to offend you..." She quickly stood with him.

"Pfft." He looked away.

Red frowned a little, then Blue looked at her again.

"Terra." He said.

"Yeah?" She looked at him.

"Thanks. I appreciate you helping me, despite how much of a p***k I've been."

"Ah, it's no sweat." She smiled.

"And if it's okay with you, I'd like to start of on a better foot. Maybe... friends?"

"Oh, yes!" She cheered.

Red wrapped her arms around him tightly, which surprised him. He put his hands to her hips, and lightly pushed her back, a tiny bit.

"Just friends." He said, a little more seriously.

"Okay." Red sighed. "So maybe you'll try to get along better with Charlotte, too?"

"Yeah." Blue nodded, then stared ahead. "Charlotte! We left her alone!"

"Gah!" Red yelped. "That's right! We need to hurry back!"

They disappeared in their respective Elements. Once they returned to the house, the monitor was on, but there was static.

"What the hell is going on...?" Red asked quietly.

The screen suddenly blipped on, showing Daisaku's face.

"Hello, traitor and comrade." Daisaku greeted.

"You!" Blue scowled. "What do you want?"

"It has come to my attention that you posess some things that belong to me. The Sapphire Diamond, and Topaz Star, to be precise. You see, I really need those, so I wish you'd bring them back to me."

"You can keep wishing, Daisaku. We know what you're plotting!"

"Oh, is that your final answer? Because... I doubt that your Electric friend would like that too much. And Miyamoto would like it even less, then you'd have somebody after your life."

"Where is Charlotte?"

"I've taken her into captivity, as collateral." Daisaku sighed. "You know, I hate going to such extremes. It makes everyone edgy. But, with a plan that would yield such successful results as my current one, I really don't have a choice. I'll be waiting on the Great Bridge."

The screen then turned off.

"Is there no boundary that man won't cross?" Blue yelled.

"Yamato?"

"We're going to get them." He told her. "We need to save Charlotte. And if I'm going to lose you too, then I might as well fall with you!"

Red smiled at that comment, but was a little worried. Blue clasped her hand quickly, and they both disappeared in a blue flash.

Damn everything was going fine I even thought that Red was going to kiss Blue but then just friend zone. But what the Hell Daisaku kidnapped Charlotte I hope she at least is with her brother. Aside from that the talked was really good I think now he can fight James without fear of dying
