I Dare You (part 1)
(This is my short story I wrote for my Language Arts class. I'm still editing so its not gonna be perfect. It's in four parts, so enjoy.)

[indent]The lot was fairly quiet as Carla and I walked towards our friends. Off in the distance, Zeke and Kamren were wrestling and throwing a foot ball around. They were twins, Zeke and Kamren, both with rusty copper hair and deep emerald eyes. They weren’t identical though they practically looked like they were. Zeke’s hair was long and had less of a curl to it than Kamren’s hair. Zeke was the daring one, always the one to make up the stupidest dares, while Kamren is more reserved and quiet. He didn't talk much, unlike Zeke. If they'd been one person, Zeke would've been the mouth and Kamren would've been the ears.
[indent]"Finally."
[indent]The light voice pulled me from my endless thought babbling. My eyes rested on a small round face. Anna stood under one of the many clumps of trees in the lot; this clump held the treehouse they had made all those years ago, before I'd meant them. Now, it was old and falling apart as it swayed in the never ending summer breeze. I watched as a plank of wood fell to the ground, causing both Carla and Anna to jump.
[indent]Anna looked like a little girl, despite the fact that she was seventeen. She stood under the trees, her long, carmel hair flowing out around her while a few strands decided to sway in front of er wide, hazel eyes. Her tiny frame was swallowed up by the billowing shorts and t-shirt, which were obvious hand-me-downsfrom her older sister. I wouldn't ever say that out loud, even if we all knew it. She was always in a sour mood, or at least that's what I saw on the outside. She never really showed any emotions, just like Carla.
[indent]"Zeke and Kam got bored waitin' around for you guys, as you can tell," Anna said, jutting a finger in the direction of all the hollering, "I was gonna go and join 'em but then you guys showed up. So here I am, annoying you two instead of those baboons out there."
[indent]I felt the corners of my lips pulled up into a small smile. I heard Carla's hyeana laugh as she strutted forward to stand by Anna.
[indent]Her thick, black hair hung to her shoulders just barely grazing the skin there. Her dark cyan eyes could hold anyone anywhere and could always get the truth out of you. We used to joke around and tell her that she would make a good investigator. She'd always be able to get the truth outta you.
[indent]Carla had an obvious build, thanks to nine years as a gymnast. She had told me that she'd always dreamed of going to the Olympics, but she had given that dream up last year, dropping out of gymnastics all together. Calra had that nice carmel skin of a Pureto Rican and was proud of her non-American heritage. She was tough, and it was hard to tell what she was feeling because she had that shell no one could break, just like Anna.
[indent]"What are we gonna do today?" Carla asked, whipping me from my thoughts.
[indent]I watched as Anna turned to see Zeke and Kamren walking back over here, as did Carla. 'Keep serious,' Carla mouthed.
[indent]"Jump off a cliff," suggested Anna.
[indent]We kept our serious looks as Zeke burst out in front of us.
[indent]"Do what?!" he excalimed.
[indent]He was one to worry, yeah right, he'd probably do it too. I found myself the first to begin laughing, followed by Carla and Anna. The two buys looked at us like we were freaks; however, after a few hesitant seconds, they joined in.
[indent]"But seriously, we can't stand around out here all day," Carla said, looking at each of us in turn before continuing on, "I say we go to the fair. It just opened last week."
[indent]"Sure, why not," I replied, nodding my head.
[indent]"What the heck. I'll come too," Anna said, a grim smile still placed over her lips.
[indent]Both Zeke and Kamren shrugged, then they took off running in the direction of the fair. I couldn't hold back my giggles, but I mamaged well. Only a few small ones magaed to slip through my pale lips; I swallowed back the others.

(I'll post part two sooner or later. Feel free to comment.)
