Mediocrity At It's Finest
These are just random snippets from my mind... enjoy.
NetStar Chronology - Chapter 1 (Please read Prologue first)
After a few moments of walking, Green found himself in the Toria Square; an area with a few small shops set up, and where Cyberhumans could freely practice their skills. He stopped a moment, just to take in the sights and sounds. But one sound in particular caught his attention; the scream of a young girl, followed by the sound of crackling static. He immediately dashed off into the direction, and came upon an interesting scene. A girl who looked about his modeled age was facing a large, wingless dragon. It stood on four legs, and had a long neck. It had a shell for a mask, which had a quartz gem set in the center, and white hair streamed out from the back of its head. It also had three tails made of flowing hair. On four legs, and with its head at its full height, it stood at thirteen feet tall. The girl was a Generic Mage. Mages are a very common Iotan Class, and each one is learned in the basics of either Magic or Murk. She had blonde hair, and light green irises. She wore a thin white cape, a white short sleeve shirt which stopped above her stomach, a white skirt which went down to her ankles, and knee high white boots. Underneath her shirt and skirt was a dark yellow body suit, which covered everything below her neck, excluding her fingers. Atop each of her palms was a oval topaz crystal, set into the body suit, it seemed.

The girl raised her arms, and the gems glew. When she thrust them forward, a spray of lightning shot out and struck the dragon. The dragon ducked its head in response, and then shook it off as the static dispersed. The dragon drew in a breath, then huffed out a gale-force wind, which blew the girl towards Green. He caught her, set her on her feet, then dashed at the dragon. He was about to draw his wakazashi, when the girl spoke up.

"No!" The girl shouted. "This is a Hydrasan. They are impervious to blade attacks!"

Damn! Green thought, as he barely dodged a bite attack.

After dodging, he threw a few bursts of Forest energy at the Hydrasan's head. The Hydrasan swished its head nimbly to avoid the shots, but Green's distraction allowed the girl to focus her energy more. The Hydrasan was getting annoyed, so it smacked Green aside with the back of a claw, then turned its attention back to the girl.

"You're too late!" The girl said, gems glowing brightly. "Arcane Blitz!"

She held her palms out, and a barrage of large bolts of Electric energy bombarded the Hydrasan. Its body coarsing with an overload of energy, the Hydrasan fell onto its stomach, its head falling limp.

"I really hate to take the life of anything." The girl sighed. "But, I really had no choice."

She walked over to the Hydrasan, and removed the quartz gem from its forehead, then pocketted the stone.

"Who are you?" Green asked the girl.

"My name is Charlotte Yellow. You must be my brother, Miyamoto Green, right?"

"Yes, I am." He stared, slightly surprised.

"Uh huh." She nodded. "Our creator told me to be on the lookout for a Scout who uses Forest energy. It's a pleasure to meet you."

"Thanks. I'm honored to meet you, as well." Green smiled, out of embarassment. "So, why did you take the gem?"

"Hydraquartz, which is the material of the gem, has latent Wind energy. I may be predominant in Electric Magic, but I am also trying to learn Wind Magic."

"You're trying to learn it by yourself?"

"Not exactly. I have a little prior knowledge of the basis of Wind Magic, but nothing I could use in the heat of battle. There are a lot of secrets to be learned from that one little stone."

"But why did it attack you? The Hydrasan, that is."

"Hydrasan are very territorial. Unfortunately, this Square is where most Torians gather every day. The activity enraged it, and I was the first target." She sighed, then smiled. "Oh, I want to thank you for your assistance."

"I didn't really do much..." He looked away.

"Nonsense. If it hadn't been for your intervention, I never would have had time to conjure up that much fatal power."

"Well... then I accept your thanks." He looked at her again.

"So, what should we do now?"

"I don't know." Green frowned, then pondered, and blinked. "Oh, I was going to ask you something! Have you heard of an organization called The Empire?"

"No, I haven't." Yellow was confused. "Why?"

"Well, I ran into a Ghost. Apparently, he belongs to this Empire group, and is recruiting members. I declined his offer, but he tried to kill me shortly after."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah." He nodded, then noticed the Ghost he met approaching. "And if I'm not mistaken, that's him coming right towards us."

But the Ghost wasn't alone. He was walking with a very muscular man. The man looked about twenty, and had short orange hair, and brown irises. He wore a simple black jacket that had short sleeves, dark orange pants, and black shoes. He was a Fighter; Cyberhumans who rarely use any weapons other than their fists in battle. They rely on their own physical power, and maybe some of their Elemental power.

"There he is!" The Ghost pointed Green out. "He's the one I told you about!"

"I honestly don't get why you weren't able to dispose of him." The man stated bluntly.

"He's just a Generic Scout. Move over, grunt. I'll fight your battle for you."

The Ghost murmured incomprehensively, then stepped back. The man approached Green and Yellow.

"So, you're the kid who roughed up my lackey? Now, I'm not too concerned for the safety of my soldiers. They're replacable. But when they run away from a fight, that reflects poor training on the part of their Captain, in this case, me. Of course, I know that my grunts know better than to run away from a battle with a mere Generic, so this can only mean one thing."

"And what might that be?" Green asked, narrowing his brows.

"You're not as weak as you look. And I'd like to see for myself what it was that scared my grunt. I'm Vincent Orange, one of the three Captains of The Empire. I dare you to stand up to my challenge!"

Immediately after he finished speaking, Orange rushed at Green. Green started throwing bursts of Forest energy, in hopes of forcing him back. But Orange just brought his arm up, and blocked the shots like they were nothing. When he got within range, Orange hammered Green with both fists. Yellow noticed this, and started focusing power. But, the Ghost was way ahead of her, and let loose a hail of Light energy on her.

"Hey!" Yellow said as she brought up a barrier. "You'll get yours, now!"

Green stood back on his feet, and drew his wakazashi, then ran at Orange. Yellow rushed the Ghost, easily dodging the shots he fired at lightning speed. When she got close, she smashed the center of his chest plate with a palm. At first, the impact didn't do much, but then the Ghost tensed up, bound by the current flowing through his body. Green slashed Orange three consecutive times, but each one did little harm.

"It's like trying to cut through armor!" Green said in surprise.

"You got that right!" Orange laughed, then slammed his fists into the ground.

The impact created a wave of Stone energy, bowling Green over. Yellow, who heard the loud crash, fired a precise bolt at Orange's side. He reacted to it, and shook a little, but didn't seem too affected.

"You need to do more research, girl." Orange laughed. "Stone has resistance to Electric. Whatever you can throw at me, I'll endure. Your puny little friend has a better chance of defeating me."

Yellow glared at Orange in silence.

"But..." Orange grinned. "I grow bored of thrashing you weaklings. I'll even let the both of you live."

"B-but sir!" The Ghost said, his body beginning to relax.

"Look, the reason for your defeat was your own fault." Orange smirked. "I'm going to triple your training, to make sure something like this doesn't happen again."

Green slowly stood up.

"Look." Orange turned to Green and Yellow. "I'm sorry for any inconvenience my lackey has caused you. Let's just put this little encounter behind us, okay?"

"I'll think about it." Green scowled.

"Good." Orange nodded, then looked at his Ghost again. "Come, we have a long day ahead of us."

Orange turned to stone, then sunk into the ground without leaving an indent. The Ghost gave Yellow and Green a dirty look.

"Don't think I'll forget this." He told them.

The Ghost then flickered out of the area.

"Well, that was interesting." Yellow sighed.

"That's one way of putting it..." Green rolled his neck back and forth. "So, what do we do about them?"

"I have no idea. But we should think about that later. We need to find our house."

"Wait, we have a house?"

"Yeah, our creator set it up. It has four bedrooms, in case we have any guests. A monitor, so we can communicate to anyone we meet via videophone. Plus, it's pretty big in general. Let's just rest for today." Yellow put an arm around Green. "We've been fighting hard, so let's wait until tomorrow before we think of a counter-action to The Empire."

"You're right." Green blushed, not expecting the contact.

Yellow giggled, then walked while guiding her brother to their home.
